More Than This

My sister had the idea of going to Napa because she wanted to see the vineyards. She was so stubborn, didn't want to go to any other place with a vineyard, it was Napa or nothing (and, of course, nothing also meant Napa). So, after a biggish family argument, it was decided: we were going on a road trip to Napa. I think it's one of those places that people feel like they need to see because they're the most famous on their category, you know what I mean?

After a long drive and a couple of unsuccessful attempts to have fun at some vineyards, she ended up doing a tasting by herself and I was in charge of finding what else to do because we had like 6 hours left in town and she didn't do any research. We went to a place called Oxbow Public Market, which was this incredibly cool farmer's market filled with pretty things and good food and; after that, we went for lunch at a bakery-diner called ButterCream but the diner was already closed; they recommended a place nearby called Red Rock Café.

Now let me tell you something about Red Rock Café, oh boy, it's an amazing place. It feels very local and has this vibe of everyone knowing each other. The place is decorated with all these different items, like superheroes, penguins, surfboards, a bit of everything. And, although it may sound like a tacky decor, everything fits so well together. The food was delicious too. Every single thing about Red Rock Café made me feel happier and at home. That's why I chose to shoot my outfit photos there. If you're ever in Napa, forget about the vineyards, go downtown and find hidden gems, it's worth it. I knew there was more to explore, more than overpriced vineyards, more than this.

// Mi hermana tuvo esta idea de ir a Napa porque quería ver los viñedos. Estaba terca con eso, no quería ir a ningún otro lugar con viñedos, era Napa o nada (y, por supuesto, nada también significaba Napa). Así que tras una pelea familiar semi-fuerte, estuvo decidido: iríamos de viaje en carretera a Napa. Creo que es uno de esos lugares que la gente siente que necesita ver porque es el más famoso en su categoría ¿saben a qué me refiero?

Después de un trayecto largo y un par de intentos fallidos de divertirnos en algunos viñedos, ella terminó haciendo una cata sola y yo me quedé a cargo de encontrar qué otra cosa hacer porque teníamos como 6 horas todavía en la ciudad y ella no investigó nada. Fuimos a un lugar llamado Oxbow Public Market, un mercado local súper padre lleno de cosas bonitas y comida rica y; tras eso, fuimos a almorzar a una panadería-cafetería llamada ButterCream pero la cafetería ya estaba cerrado; nos recomendaron ir a un lugar cerca llamado Red Rock Café.

Ahora, déjenme contarles algo sobre Red Rock Café, oh cielos, es un lugar maravilloso. Se siente muy local y tiene esta vibra de que todos se conocen entre sí. El lugar está decorado con todos estos objetos distintos, como superhéroes, pingüinos, tablas de surf, un poco de todo. Y, aún cuando puede sonar a mal gusto, todo encaja perfectamente. La comida fue deliciosa también. Cada cosa sobre Red Rock Café me hizo sentir feliz y como en casa. Por eso elegí tomar mis fotos de atuendo ahí. Si alguna vez están en Napa, olvídense de los viñedos, vayan a la ciudad y encuentren gemas ocultas, vale la pena. Sabía de debía haber más qué explorar, más que viñedos sobrevalorados, más que esto.
