Hidden Corners: Brunch at the W Hotel in Mexico City

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've done a restaurant/food review here and it's a shame, I love doing those because I think it's pretty fun to find cool spots to hang out, have a good meal and, of course, share the details with you. Well, the folks at the W Hotel in Mexico City invited me for Sunday brunch and it was awesome. Here's my complete review!

// ¡Hola amigos!

The brunch is hosted at the J by Jose Andres restaurant inside the W Hotel; you have the option to eat indoors or at the terrace (where a DJ is playing), I went with my friend Lilia Cortes and we chose to sit indoors because it was drizzling outside. They welcome you with mimosas (this is a bottomless mimosas brunch) and after two (haha) we started the attack.

There are different stations around the room: the salad-raw-fresh type of food table; the cheese table; a bar with bread, chicken, guacamole, chips and seafood; the grill and; the dessert table. I paid a triple visit to the cheese table (which is one of the highlights for me) and a couple more to the dessert table, because I just happen to love sweets. Brunch starts at 12:00 pm and ends at 17:30, that gives you plenty of time to eat, chat, drink, eat some more and have a great time. The review continues below!

Amongst the things I liked the best we have everything on the cheese table (haha), the bread (and I know you're not supposed to fill yourself with bread on a buffet, but this one was so good!) and the deserts. If you've been to a buffet before, you probably know that the food isn't always that good but here at the W Hotel brunch, everything (and I'm telling the truth) tastes really good! That makes it hard for you to choose a dish but I'd recommend to go with your favourites, repeat and keep the mimosas coming.

This brunch is for people who can eat tons, if you're not one of those people, I wouldn't recommend it. The food is crazy good and you have a million things to try before you leave. If you feel adventurous, order the "cocktail oysters" infused with a margarita or a gin & tonic. They also have paella and rib eye if you're feeling extra hungry. Overall, it's a solid option for Sunday brunch and I can guarantee you won't regret your visit, there's not a single thing on the buffet that doesn't taste good. It's a bit pricy (around 40 to 60 dollars per person), tho, but if you want a brunch with no regrets, then J by Jose Andres at the W Hotel is the place to go!

Thanks so much to the people at the W Hotel for the invite!
Love always,
Henry.
