Old Town - New Feel

Even though my mom technically lives in Sacramento (technically being the key word here), she doesn't actually live in the city of Sacramento; but it's okay because she's a 30 minute drive away from there. Fortunately, this time around, I got the chance to properly visit the actual city of Sacramento and, let me tell you: I loved, loved, loved it. 

I spent some time in Sacramento and Old Sacramento. The first one is this really cool and hip city with amazing street art, rad restaurants, nice buildings and an overwhelmingly positive vibe; that last thing is quite important because some cities in the world have that friendly air (like Tokyo or Seoul) and some don't (like San Francisco or Las Vegas), and I do like that quality, it makes you feel at ease and safe.

Old Sacramento is amazing, it's this town that was built on top of another one (thanks to a big flood or something like that) and now it's filled with secret passages, underground buildings and cool stuff like that. Being there certainly feels like being transported into a movie, with props everywhere, quirky stores and nice cafés and restaurants. It was amazing to visit such an old town but get this new feel of peace and, I don't know, being there felt right.

// Aún cuando mi mamá vive técnicamente en Sacramento (técnicamente es la palabra clave aquí), realmente no vive en la ciudad de Sacramento; pero está bien porque está a media hora de camino en coche. Afortunadamente, esta vez, tuve la oportunidad de visitar en forma la ciudad de Sacramento y, déjenme decirles algo: la amo mucho.

Pasé algo de tiempo en Sacramento y Old Sacramento. La primera es una ciudad con mucha onda, con arte callejero muy padre, restaurantes y cafés my lindos, edificios increíbles y una buena vibra impresionante; esto último es muy importante porque algunas ciudades en el mundo tienen este aire amigable (como Tokyo o Seoul) y otras no (como San Francisco o Las Vegas), y esa cualidad me gusta mucho, te hace sentir tranquilo y a salvo.

Old Sacramento está muy padre también, es este pueblo que fue construido encima de otro (gracias a una inundación grande o algo así) y ahora está lleno de pasajes secretos, edificios subterráneos y cosas padres así. Estar ahí realmente se siente como ser transportado a una película, con utilería por todos lados, tiendas chistosas y cafés y restaurantes bonitos. Fue muy padre poder visitar un lugar tan viejo pero tener este sentimiento nuevo de paz y, no sé, estar ahí se sintió como lo correcto.
