We're all trying to connect, aren't we?
I was watching this weird anime show the other day (it's called Kiznaiver) where the main thing about the characters is that they're completely disconnected from each other and how they all long to have that certain something special between them. You don't have to be a genius to figure this out, we're all trying to connect with each other on so many different levels, it's one of the fundamentals of being human.
In one way or another, we're constantly interacting with other people; in real life, over on social media, it's all a big network of people reaching out to people with good and bad intentions. Connecting doesn't always result in a meaningful relationship, you know? Over the years, I've experienced so many different kinds of relationships, I've seen people that I cared about complete abandon me, I've been meaningful to people that I don't even acknowledge. We live in a strange world.
Yet, one truth remains: we're a sociable species, we need to talk to others, to interact, give opinions and take blows from harsh comments every now and then. It's because we don't understand that we wonder that the others are thinking and desperately try to understand every word they say. Sometimes this ends up in misunderstandings, sometimes this scares others. Connecting can make you feel very vulnerable and no one likes that, yet, when you find the right people, it's that vulnerability what strengthens your bonds. This month will revolve around connection and what it means to me and others, I hope you stick around for that. Todos intentamos conectar, ¿no es así?
El otro día estaba viendo un anime muy raro (se llama Kiznaiver) donde el tema principal es que los personajes están completamente desconectados el uno del otro y cómo todos desean tener ese algo especial entre ellos. No tienes que ser un genio para descifrar esto, todos estamos intentando conectar entre nosotros en muchos niveles distintos, es uno de los fundamentos de ser humano.
En cierta forma, siempre estamos interactuando con otras personas: en la vida real, en redes sociales, todo es una gran red de personas hablando a otras personas con buenas y malas intenciones. Conectar no siempre resulta en relaciones significativas, ¿saben? A través de los años, he vivido muchos tipos diferentes de relaciones, he visto gente que me importaba abandonarme por completo, he sido algo significativo para personas que ni sé que existen. Vivimos en un mundo muy raro.
Aún así, una verdad permanece: somos una especie social, necesitamos hablar con otros, interactuar, dar opiniones y tomar golpes de comentarios rudos de vez en cuando. Es porque no entendemos que nos preguntamos siempre lo que los demás están pensando e intentamos desesperadamente entender cada palabra que dicen. A veces esto lleva a malentendidos, a veces esto asusta a los demás. Conectar puede hacerte sentir muy vulnerable y a nadie le gusta eso, aún así, cuando encuentras a las personas correctas, es esa vulnerabilidad la que fortalece sus lazos. Este mes va a girar en torno a las conexiones y lo que significan para mí y para los demás, espero que se queden a verlo. No hay lista de canciones esta vez pero súper pueden ir y ver Kiznaiver, quizá les de un par de ideas, jaja.
