DIY Clothing Remix (with H&M)

You know how H&M is big on recycling, helping the planet and all ecologic matters, right? If you didn't, now you do! I teamed up with them for a workshop during something called EcoFest (which is the biggest ecology-recycling themed festival in Mexico) to inspire people and make them realize they don't necessarily need to get rid of their clothes so easily. 

I received several garments and, in the truest Project Runway challenge philosophy, I had to create something new with them. I put together three pieces: a fusion kimono-shirt, a cape/poncho and, the biggest challenge, a menswear vest out of a women's coat. Below are all the details so you can DO IT YOURSELF. It really wasn't that hard. Hehe.

// Saben que H&M es fuerte con cosas de reciclado, ayudar al planeta y todo lo que tenga que ver con ecología ¿no? ¡Si no lo sabían, ahora sí! Hice equipo con ellos para impartir un taller en el EcoFest (que es el festival de ecología-reciclaje más grande en México) para inspirar a las personas y hacer que se den cuenta que no necesariamente tienen que deshacerse de su ropa tan fácilmente.

Recibí varias prendas y, en la filosofía de desafío de Project Runway más real, tuve que crear algo nuevo con ellas. Hice tres piezas: una fusión de blusa-kimono, una capa/poncho y, el desafío más grande, un chaleco de hombre a partir de un abrigo de mujer. Abajo están todos los detalles para que ustedes lo puedan hacer también. Realmente no fue tan difícil, jaja.
