When in doubt... balayage.

I'm wearing:

1. Oversized pea coat, Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.
2. Striped t-shirt with contrast pocket, from Zara.
3. Paneled super skinny jeans, from H&M.
4. Trompe L'oeil high top sneakers, Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.
5. Dreamcatcher necklace, from Asos.
I've always believed that girls had it easier when it comes to hair styling. I mean, the biggest variation possible for me was combing my hair, pushing it back and tucking it in on a hat. So, another option was kinda hard to believe. Balayage means "sweep" and applied to the hair means to use a brush to hand-paint a thick mixture of lightener onto a section of hair. It's thinner at the roots and more notorious towards the ends.

I've been wanting to dye my hair pink for a couple months now but, honestly, it's scary. So, I thought of doing something a little less drastic to start. I balayaged my hair and added 2-3 lighter tones to my silly head. And I really love it, I really, really do. Since it was the first time ("first times" month, remember?) I did something with the color of my hair, I was completely scared but the guy who did it is amazing and talented. I'd probably go back to his salon to dye my hair in hues of pink, eventually.

When it comes to the outfit, I think the coat is a very powerful piece that needs a quieter platform to shine in its full potential. The stripes create a nice illusion of movement, the skinny jeans make me look, well, skinny and the sneakers match the pocket on the top and the feather necklace. Coolness.

Buena onda.
How do you feel about my take on balayage?
