It's Tailored, It's Better (Hockerty Collab)

I'm wearing:

2. Denim shorts, from Pull & Bear.
3. White espadrilles, from Zara.
4. Black leather bracelet, from H&M.
Have you ever had a tailored shirt? A tailored anything? It's pretty great. Back in the day, our granddads used to take most of their clothing to the tailor, you know? That guy who made everything fit perfectly. A big reason of the high-pricing on designer pieces has to do with the fitting. Usually, fitted clothing is way more expensive than regular mall clothes.

That's where cool brands like Hockerty appear. Hockerty is this cool company that allows you to create a customized shirt, jacket, pants or polos, any colour or fabric you wish; then, you enter your measurements, add some finishing touches (like a contrast collar or your fancy initials) and, voilá! You get a customized piece that's tailored just for you.

I received this shirt right on time for my birthday and was, honestly, surprised in the best way possible. It fits like a glove, it's awesome. The part I customized was the collar, I think the red and white contrast looks pretty cool and I also added some buttons to it to secure that the collar always looks good. You should definitely check out Hockerty and get yourself a customized fitted piece. You won't regret it.

Me queda súper bien.
Love always,
Hen.

L.A. Photo Journal Part II: Shopping.

The second part of my Los Angeles trip photo journal is dedicated to shopping. Believe everything your hear about L.A. being a great place to do shopping. It really is. The malls are huge, with fantastic stores and great visual appeal. One of my favourites was THE GROVE, located near Beverly Boulevard: it's completely outdoors, it has giant pinwheels, a pond, an international market with cuisine from all over the world and a train. CHOO CHOO!

My other favourite place to shop and favourite in general was SUNSET BOULEVARD. My, my, it's beautiful like no other place I saw in L.A.; it looks like a fairytale villa mixed with a really nice artistic area. The H&M there was the best, I bought incredibly cool things that I only found there and they had the most amazing sale: Every reduced item has an extra 50% OFF, I have $4 jeans now, and everything was in perfect state and organized. I guess it helps when the headquarters are next door.

If I had to choose a place to live in L.A. it would definitely be Sunset Boulevard. There are cafés and outdoors restaurants everywhere, the houses look amazing and you have a great view, no matter where you're standing. Even the bus stops look great. I MEAN...

O SEA...
The Grove's very own pond.
Even the guy at checkout was incredibly nice, his name was Jürgen, so hi Jürgen!
The H&M U.S. headquarters are in that white building.
If you're ever in L.A. find a Porto's, they have the best lemonade and cuban sandwiches ever.
And again, "reflection me" makes an appearance.
There will be one last part coming soon. Thanks for reading and
enjoy the pure sales if you're ever in Los Angeles.

Love always, Hen.

Pure friendship

I'm wearing:

1. Sleeveless plaid shirt, from H&M.
2. Black t-shirt, from Zara.
3. Slim fit gray jeans, from Zara.
4. Burgundy sneakers, from Vans.
Recently, I've been thinking about friendship and everything that involves. It's a complex process and a very interesting one, I must say. For example, it's funny how strangers can become best friends in seconds, I think that happens when the relationships are pure; when there's no strings attached and when people can see eye-to-eye and just have fun being who they are. Those are the best kind of friendships, because they have a great starting point.

One of my very best friends took this photos. It's curious, because I don't see him very often but every time we hang feels as if we have seen each other a few hours ago. I think I'm lucky because I have a couple more friendships where that phenomenon repeats. I used to think that complicated friendships were the best kind because that factor kept them interesting, now I realize that pure friendships are the most amazing.

This was a casual outfit for the movies and the photos were taken a while ago. I went to see Man Of Steel, which was utterly awesome, and it was just a great day catching up between friends. The sleeveless plaid shirt came from H&M and I love it like a love song, baby. The fabric feels great and it's super versatile. The accessories added some texture to the whole look and, I don't know, I believe you can look cool even at the movies. It doesn't need to be a sweatpants + t-shirt combo to be comfortable.

Love always, Hen.

L.A. Photo Journal Part I: Walking

As you may or may not know, I went to Los Angeles a few weeks ago. It's such a great city. There are many, many cool things and I tried to capture as much of them as possible. On the first day, I went to a party hosted by Lookbook.nu and to see Hollywood Boulevard at night. It was impressive, there was tons of people on the streets and lights everywhere, I felt like I was in Las Vegas or something.

In the next few days, I went to City Walk, within Universal Studios, that's like a huge outdoors mall with a few nightclubs and restaurants. Everything was illuminated and the stores window displays were amazing. The down part was: everything was really expensive.

I decided to check out Hollywood with daylight and I went to the Hollywood and Vine area which was much more urban; a real difference between there and the lighst-filled boulevard. It is safe to say that I walked a lot, visited some thrift stores and tons of malls. Quick tip: If you're in L.A. and want to shop, avoid the stores in Hollywood Boulevard, they're small and don't have a lot of things available.

It's very weird that you buy your tickets to Universal Studios and Disney Land at the Chinese Theater. Very weird.
Los Angeles could easily be called "Palm Tree City", they're everywhere.
This is actually part of a mall. WOW.
That was the first part of my L.A. photo journal. More photos and pure adventures will come soon.
Love always, Hen.

NIVEA: In-Shower Body Moisturiser

Last week, I had the opportunity to try the newest Nivea product for the Mexican market: a body moisturiser for the shower. WHAT? Yeah! It's like a conditioner for the body that is targeted for people who don't usually use creams. It's such a cool idea. This event was held at a super classy furniture shop that was full of metallic showers! They even had a bathtub/plant pot. LOVELY.

So, I've been using the product for almost a week now and I fully recommend it. It smells really good (it's a neutral, unisex, scent), and my skin feels great after the shower. It really works like conditioner; at first, you wash your skin with soap and stuff and then you apply the moisturiser and rinse it off. Voilá, soft skin in seconds.

This event was perfect to finish the PURE SKIN chapter of this blog. I've never been exposed to the skincare world and it's such a great place to be. It feels like that Grey's Anatomy episode in which the guys discover the derm department and are infatuated with it. Haha. Anyway, go and try this, it's called NIVEA IN-SHOWER BODY MOISTURISER. Trust me, it's great.

PURE SKIN (Sephora Collaboration) Part III

Catch Part 1 here.
Part 2 here.
I decided to feature 2 videos on this post. "WHY?" you may ask. The answer is easy: they're short videos, like around three or four minutes each. These two are somewhat different than the first and second ones. They are more informative. But that doesn't mean they're less important. In the first, the featured brand is Clinique and I loved that it has a philosophy that was born with women's skincare but was organically imprinted in their products for men.

And the part B features products from Jack Black (and no, they have nothing to do with the actor, I thought that he was behind this line!). These are like Santa's Little Helpers when it comes to shaving, hydrating and using lip balm.

This is the last video of the collaboration but tomorrow I have a surprise for you. The Sephora team has offered to give one of my readers a free facial on one of the stores. I'll post the details along with a conclusion for this project tomorrow!

Hen.

PURE Skin (Sephora Collaboration) Part II.

PART 1: HERE.
PART 3: HERE.
In the second part of my video project with Sephora, we talk about LAB SERIES, another cool brand that has a line for men's skincare. Unlike the first part which was more about a complete routine for revitalizing your skin, this time is more about perfecting the little details.

It's important to hydrate your skin in order to get a healthier look. And LAB SERIES offers more than that; they're all about moisturizing but giving an extra boost of something; that comes in the form of waking up with a feeling of ice or giving you a porcelain texture with a BB cream (BB stands for Blemish Balm in the eastern market  and Beauty Balm in the west). The road to a pure skin is coming closer.

I'm a huge fan of the BB cream. What do you think? Would you try it?
Love always,
Hen.

PURE Skin (Sephora Collaboration) Part I.

PART 2: HERE.
PART 3: HERE.
I'm very excited to announce that I collaborated with the Sephora team to create a few capsules about skincare for guys. "But isn't Sephora a girls' brand?", you may ask. The answer is NO! Sephora has a whole line of products for guys! "But should guys wear skincare products? Isn't that for girls and old people and stuff?" could be your next question. And again, NO! The main goal behind these videos is to show that you don't have to be a girl or a wrinkled old man to use skincare products. I chose to focus on things for the face that help to fight the 'exhausted look' and that everyone (young and old) can use.

It's important to have a skin that's pure; and with that I mean clean, fresh, energized and oxygenated. If you still don't believe my words, it's ok, watch the video and leave a comment! I received a demonstration of several products (on my face) and it was amazing. In this first part (of three) the featured brand is Biotherm Homme (please excuse the shitty quality of the first few seconds, it was the first take we recorded).

Hope you liked it.
Love always,
Hen.
