Two Sides of the Same Coin.

Besides showing that an outfit can be transformed and worn in two different ways; the editorial for this month symbolizes the idea of having a complex personality. I strongly believe that way is much more interesting than one-layered basic people.

Every coin has two sides; does the same principle apply to you?

Urban Tribe (Rose Wholesale Review Part 2).

I'm wearing:

2. Black super skinny jeans, from Asos.
3. White espadrilles, from Zara.
4. Black wide brim hat, from Wonderplace.
I was approached by the Rose Wholesale team a couple weeks ago and they asked me to review some products. This is the second out of two review posts I'll do (for the first, click here). At the beginning, while browsing through their site, I was quite skeptical because the pieces featured there were really affordable and I mean really, really cheap.

For this post, I'll review a poncho-like t-shirt and a fox ring. Let's start with the tasseled t-shirt; I really like it, and never seen anything similar on stores right now. The fabric could be a little thicker but it's nice enough; same with the print on the middle, the quality could be better but it's pretty okay.  The tassels are great. Overall, it's a nice poncho t-shirt that could be better but it's good enough considering its retail price.

The fox ring is a normal, cool ring. There's really nothing wrong with it. The only thing I don't like about Rose Wholesale when it comes to rings is that they only have "one size fits all" pieces. So, it's kind of hard to predict if the ring will fit.

Rose Wholesale promotes cool clothing at reasonable prices and they fulfill its promise. The quality might not be top-notch but it's nice enough for a fast-fashion brand. Don't expect anything super fancy; although you won't get anything super cheap either.

Thanks to Rose Wholesale for sending me these products to review!

Love always,
Hen.

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date (Rose Wholesale Review Part 1).

I'm wearing:

2. Slim fit jeans in acid wash, from Zara.
3. Brown suede boots, from Pull & Bear.
4. Double chain necklace, from H&M.
5. Starfish bracelet, from Rose Wholesale (Currently SOLD OUT).
I was approached by the Rose Wholesale team a couple weeks ago and they asked me to review some products. This is the first out of two review posts I'll do (for the second, click here). At the beginning, while browsing through their site, I was quite skeptical because the pieces featured there were really affordable and by that I mean really, really cheap.

I was pleasantly surprised when the parcel arrived and the items' quality was good. I thought it was going to be really cheap but it wasn't. It's just like any other fast-fashion brand out there. For this post, I'll talk about the rabbit sweater and the starfish bracelet; I chose to shoot this outfit in a cozy, rustic apartment and the jumper really reminded me of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, therefore the title.

I'll start with the good; the sweater is really comfortable, I like that it looks just like the photo from their website and the rabbit is well knitted; the only thing I dislike is the seam that runs through the middle to hold the rabbit onto the sweater. It's barely noticeable but I don't like the way it looks.

The second piece I received was a starfish bracelet that looks really cool. The material is surprisingly sturdy and I really like that. So far, the gold on the metal is holding up okay but I guess I'll have to wait and see if the paint sticks. Overall I think it's a really good bracelet that's worth way more than its retail price.

Thanks Rose Wholesale for these items. Stay tuned for the second part of my review, it's coming tomorrow. Also, be sure to check out the Rose Wholesale website, you might find something you like.

Sephora: Spring 2014 Press Presentation

I was invited to an amazing brunch organized by Sephora to catch a glimpse of their new spring 2014 collection. This event kicked off my year with a bang, it was really cool, the decorations were great, I got a chance to catch up with some of my blogger friends and, most importantly, the products featured were interesting and I can't wait to try most of them (yes, I brought a lot of things home with me, hehe).

I'm a huge fan of Sephora. A year ago or so, I didn't even properly know what it was and now it's becoming one of my favorite stores, the customer experience you get at the stores is incredible and I really love their PR and marketing team. They always make sure to host amazing events. Here I share a couple of photos of the event with some of the more intriguing products:

From Peter Thomas Roth, a CC cream that has 30 times more vitamin C than an orange, how cool is that? If you don't know what a CC cream is, please click here.

From Fabulips, comes the "pout-o-matic", which is a lip exfoliator. I don't know what are the effects or how it works but I'm dying to try it on my lips, haha. Expect a review of this soon.

Only one product created specifically for men was presented: the Turbo Wash Energizing Cleanser for Hair & Body by Jack Black. It sounds really good and, again, can't wait to try it (on the shower).

Amazing decoration.
That's it for now. I have a lot of thing to try and I'll share some tips with you later. Remember that  using products on your skin will never reduce your manliness. It will, however, make you look better. So, be brave and try something out. Go to Sephora and explore a little. Thanks again to the Sephora team for inviting me to a great brunch and introducing me to their new spring products.

Love always,
Hen.

Infinity.

I'm wearing:

1. Copper coloured blazer, from H&M.
2. Slim fit sports t-shirt, from H&M.
3. Black super skinny jeans, from Asos.
4. American flag sneakers, from Urban Outfitters.
5. Pocketwatch necklace, from Asos.
In The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (movie and book both) there's a moment where the main character (Charlie) and his friends are driving trough a tunnel and he swears that, at the time, all of them felt infinite. This endless garden/tunnel reminded me of that and I knew, instantaneously, that I wanted to take photos there, I wanted to feel infinite.

I'm wearing a copper coloured blazer that I really like because the fit is kind of boxy; when I wear jackets that aren't slim fitted, I like to balance the rest of the outfit with fitted pieces, like the jeans or the t-shirt; the latter is really cool because it's meant for sports but you can actually wear it outside of the gym, it looks and feels like silk, haha, and I'm a sucker for interesting textures.

There's this funny feeling when you enter a place that doesn't seem to end; it doesn't even have to be a place, it can be anything, any phase of your life that you sense will last forever or it seems to feel that way. I guess that's one of the things that Korea made me feel, that it was going to last forever but, at some point, it's important to acknowledge that life-events like those are meant to end and greater things will come, eventually. And, I guess, that makes us all infinite.

Love always,
Hen.

Cherry Cherry Boom Boom

I'm wearing:

1. CHIC sweatshirt, from Forever 21.
2. White shirt, from Spicy Color Korea.
3. Super slim fit jeans, from H&M.
4. Gray suede creepers, from Kr3w.
5. Wishbone necklace, from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
6. Full finger ring and spiked bracelet, from H&M.
The cherry tree is my favorite tree out of all. Imagine my excitement when I arrived in Asia, I could just picture myself taking amazing photos under one of those pink fellas, oh so amazing. Turns out  the trees are, in fact, present in Seoul, but they're only blooming on March-April. I was devastated.

This is the closest I could get to a cherry tree. I found that wall near my house and thought it looked so cool and in a lucky coincidence, my hair was in the perfect shade of pink to match. Overall, I think that even when I couldn't see the cherry trees in person, that's a great excuse to go back to Asia someday and experience them in all their splendor. The best is yet to come, right?

As I mentioned on an earlier post, this is one of my favorite sweatshirts. I think it looks very cool, it's graphic but also has a very nice combination of fabrics with the faux leather and the cotton. I also thought about mixing a formal shirt with a casual sweatshirt and I do love the result, it's smart casual, I could even go to work dressed like that (if I had a job). The accessories are in gold because the studs on the sweatshirt are gold and the rest is dark and gray to balance the color scheme with my pink head. Let me know what you think!

Hen.

Knight In Shining Armor

I'm wearing:

1. Studded vest in off white, from H&M.
2. White shirt with contrast striped sleeves, from Spicy Color Korea.
3. Super skinny jeans, from H&M.
4. Sequined sneakers, from Vans.
5. Rings, from H&M.
Ever since I was a kid, I've always been really into the idea of becoming a girls' Prince Charming. I don't know, just being that guy that sweeps her off her feet and, after that, they both fall madly in love and the guy will always be the one that rescues his damsel in distress when something goes wrong. I think it's unrealistic but I still love the essence of it.

When I was wearing this outfit, I felt the vest as kind of armor, I've always wanted to wear an armor, haha, or at least a crown. Guess you can blame 'Game of Thrones' for that; also, one of my dream Halloween costumes is Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid. You see? I'd really like to be a fairytale prince. That would be amazing. I can only hope that happens eventually, right?

My shirt comes from an awesome store in Korea called Spicy Color. They're funny and quirky and always mix patterns and textures in great ways. I love that shirt because it's versatile. If I wear it with a jacket or blazer it's a nice simple white shirt but if I wear it alone or with a vest it becomes a casual cool piece. What do you think about this look? You like?

Love always,
Hen.

Big Brother.

I'm wearing:

1. Gray leather biker jacket, from H&M.
2. Graphic t-shirt, from H&M.
3. Super skinny jeans, also from H&M.
4. Gray suede creepers, from Kr3w.
5. Silver rings, from H&M.
"You're being watched", that's what I thought when I stepped onto this installation on a random street near my apartment in South Korea. There was no explanation, no author, nothing. It appeared one day out of nowhere and it's been there for a couple of months now. I think it's pretty cool, I love mirrors and these are like cameras or something.

Several phone booths surround that installation and I also thought it was on purpose. The phones are never hanged and they make the weird noise that phones do when you don't dial on time. Somehow, it added something to the piece. It was like being watched AND, also, heard by some higher power. A bit like Big Brother or something. I think that's the future, though, we're going to be watched, don't know how but I really do feel that something like that is coming.

Moving onto the outfit, I love biker jackets and that's no secret. I bought this one at H&M here in Korea and I seriously love it. Been wearing it non-stop, haha. I wanted to add a pop of color with the blue t-shirt but keep the rest in gray and dark tones, even the rings are a mixture between gray, black and blue. What do you think? You like?

Love always,
Hen.
