Rule #3: Sharing is Caring

Rule number three (after knowing who you are and who your audience is) is something that I heavily defend. Personal branding, as the words explain, is personal but, and quoting John Donne, no man is an island. In order to become successful, we all need to work with others, to share what we know and accept knowledge from the outside world.

Sharing is caring, that may sound funny but it's a universal truth. I work with a lot of different bloggers, with friends, with people from brands or agencies because I want to share my ideas and I also want to hear what they have to say. By treating yourself like a brand, you're kind of like becoming the CEO of your own company and that company needs people to help you support and carry the weight. The first two rules of branding are quite personal, yes, but remember that it's okay to work with others, to share things. Let's make sure we all finish the race instead of sabotaging each other and getting stuck in the way, shall we?

Love always,
Henry.
