The Power Within

Potential is such an overused word; people say it all the time: you're not bad, you got potential; he's got all the potential in the world; you have the potential to be incredible... And the list could go on and on and on. Sometimes it is true, people got potential to do great things but we must always remember: there is a big difference between having potential to do something and actually doing it. It's important to do things, not just dream about doing them.

Potential could be defined as the power we have within ourselves to change a situation. It's the strength to accomplish something, to achieve a goal and follow our destiny. It can also be used as a way to avoid telling someone that he or she isn't good enough for an activity but they definitely have room for improvement and, again, we're talking about certain ability or power we have within ourselves to become better at something. 

The beautiful thing about the power within is that it's there, inside us, just waiting to be triggered; and when that moment arrives, we strive and reach the stars. In some way, we're all special and we're all powerful but a great deal of us spend most of our time waiting for an opportunity, standing there, analysing possibilities and scenarios, hoping for that thing that will trigger our power, that will unleash our potential. We're waiting for our lives to start.

// Potencial es una palabra muy gastada; la gente la dice todo el tiempo: no eres malo, tienes potencial; él tiene todo el potencial del mundo; tienes el potencial de ser grandioso... Y la lista podría seguir para siempre. A veces es cierto, la gente tiene potencial para hacer hacer grandes cosas cosas pero siempre debemos recordar: hay una gran diferencia entre tener potencial para hacer algo y en realmente hacer algo. Es importante hacer las cosas, no sólo soñar con hacerlas.

El potencial se podría definir como el poder que tenemos dentro de nosotros para cambiar una situación. Es la fuerza para cumplir algo, para alcanzar metas y seguir nuestro destino. También puede usarse como una forma de evadir decirle a alguien que no es suficientemente bueno para una actividad pero que definitivamente hay campo para mejorar y, de nuevo, estamos hablando de cierta habilidad o poder que tenemos dentro de nosotros para volvernos mejores en algo. 

La cosa más linda del poder que tenemos dentro de nosotros es que está ahí, adentro, esperando ser detonado; y cuando ese momento llega, todo fluye y alcanzamos las estrellas. En cierta forma, todos somos especiales y todos somos poderosos pero muchos pasamos la mayor parte del tiempo esperando por una oportunidad, parados, analizando posibilidades y escenarios, esperando a que llegue ese algo que detone nuestro poder, que desate nuestro potencial. Todos estamos esperando que nuestras vidas comiencen.
