Most of us go through life waiting for something great to happen. Seasons come and go and, as we grow older, we begin to realise that if we want something, we have to go and get it. It's important to understand that and make our peace with it. A few years ago, at least within the blogging business, things happened easier; posts went viral naturally and influencers were born out of nowhere.
Nowadays, things have changed. Achieving viralization is possible if you're willing to pay a price and, being honest, you can become really famous real fast with just a slight hint of strategy and talent (that is if you have the money to do it). We live in an era where reality TV stars can become supermodels, where perfection is just a matter of perception on social media and a time when creativity is no longer needed to be successful.
I don't mean to sound like a downer, not by any means, I'm' just trying to showcase some aspects of the world we live in today. Of course, some things manage to be exempted from this situations. You wanna know how to identify them? Look for honesty, for well thought and expressed ideas. There still are individuals with these characteristics, there are still brands that stay true to who they are, like my friends at Frank Wright who make the best boots in the world, you should seriously check out their website if you haven't already.
I think we'll always be waiting for opportunities but we also need to learn how to make things happen, staying true to who we are and being honest with the world.

Las estaciones vienen y van y, conforme vamos creciendo, comenzamos a darnos cuenta que si queremos algo, tenemos que ir a buscarlo. Es importante entender esto y hacer las paces con la idea. Hace unos años, al menos en el mundo de bloggers, las cosas sucedían más fácilmente; los posts se volvían virales naturalmente y los influencers nacían de un día para otro.
En estos días, las cosas han cambiado. Conseguir viralización es posible si estás dispuesto a pagar un precio y, siendo honestos, te puedes volver muy famoso muy rápido con sólo una pizca de estrategia y talento (eso es, claro, si tienes el dinero para pagarlo). Vivimos en una era donde la gente de los reality shows se convierte en súper modelos, donde la perfección es una cuestión de percepción en redes sociales y un tiempo donde la creatividad ya no es necesaria para ser exitoso.
No es mi intención sonar pesimista, para nada, sólo intento expresar algunos aspectos del mundo en que vivimos hoy. Por supuesto, algunas cosas logran estar exentas de estas situaciones. ¿Quieren saber cómo identificarlas? Busquen honestidad, busquen ideas bien pensadas y expresadas. Aún hay individuos con estas características, aún hay marcas que se mantienen fieles a lo que son, como mis amigos de Frank Wright que hacen las mejores botas del mundo, deberían dar una vuela por su sitio web si no lo han hecho aún.
Creo que siempre estaremos esperando oportunidades pero también tenemos que aprender a hacer que las cosas sucedan, manteniéndonos fieles a quiénes somos y siendo honestos con el mundo.
