Old and Forgotten

You know what's really awful? When someone from your past pops back into your life and it's all like "I miss you. I wanna see you" but that actually never happens. I've said before that relationships are like closets and fridges, you always need space for new things and you also need to get rid of some stuff every now and then; but I'm also a person willing to give others a chance. Yes, you may have fallen apart over something, or distance and occupations kept you away from each other, but it's nice to see people again after a while.

In those moments, where you or them feel old and forgotten, you come to conclusions: either that person has earned back a place in "your fridge" or; you prove to yourself again why did you choose to let that one go. I've experienced both and, let me tell you, the first scenario is the rare one. In my experience, people won't always fit with where you're going and that's okay because more will come your way. Once in a blue moon, you get lucky and people come back to your life and you to theirs only to build a stronger relationship. Those moments make you feel old, perhaps, but never forgotten.

He dicho antes que las relaciones humanas son como armarios y refrigeradores, siempre necesitas espacio para nuevas cosas y también es necesario deshacerse de otras de vez en cuando; pero también soy alguien que está dispuesto a dar oportunidades. Sí, quizá esa gente y tú tuvieron un problema o; la distancia y ocupaciones los alejaron, pero es bueno verla después de un tiempo.

En esos momentos, cuando tú o ellos se sienten viejos y olvidados, llegas a conclusiones: o esa persona se ha vuelto a ganar un espacio en "tu refrigerador" o; compruebas de nuevo por qué elegiste dejarla ir. He vivido ambas cosas y, déjenme decirles, el primer escenario es el raro. En mi experiencia, la gente no siempre encaja con lo que quieres y eso está bien porque más vendrá en tu camino. Una vez cada luna llena, tienes suerte y la gente vuelve a tu vida y tú a la suya sólo para construir lazos más fuertes. Esos momentos quizá te hagan sentir viejo, pero, no olvidado.
