"Farmer shirts", that's how I always refer to a plaid shirt; I think they're one of those garments that should be present in every single man's wardrobe: size, color, length... That doesn't matter, they're just one of those items that can really save you on a daily basis. Whether you like to dress it up (with smaller patterns and more pastel-y colours) or dress it down (bigger checks, longer lengths or tied around your waist), it's one of the most classic-eternal menswear pieces.

My love for plaid shirts began when I was in high school and it was kind of like a "gateway shirt", haha. My first couple of shirts were plaid shirts and, after that, denim, printed and solid colours followed. What I like most about a good old farmer shirt is that you can mix it up and create so many outfits, making it look different is as simple as unbuttoning it, add a tie, collar tips, tuck it in... There are a whole lot of possibilities and that makes it a grand classic piece.

Imagine my joy when I found that longline plaid shirts were a thing! I was stoked! The one I'm wearing here has been a true lifesaver because every time I use it in an outfit, I can play around and make it look different, it's really versatile and, you wanna know the best thing about it? I found it at H&M for $5, haha. So yeah, if you're looking to invest on a good shirt, plaid is the way to go, you won't regret having one (or ten).
