Simple Combos (in partnership with Mango)

I've always said that anyone can dress in a stylish way, it's not a matter of budget, it's about having good taste and being clever with the garments we have in our wardrobe. I've already talked about modern basics on a previous post and, for this one, I want to discuss the idea of simple combos. Simplicity is a key idea when it comes to fashion; I'm sure you've heard less is more a million times and, when it comes to people who want to improve their personal style, it's one of the things that matters the most. 

I created this outfit in partnership with Mango, which is a really cool not-that-expensive fast fashion brand, and I focused on black pieces: a classic black polo shirt and black skinny jeans. Those are the core garments in this outfit; since I didn't want to do an all-black ensemble, I added the sneakers with touches of gold and white; based on that, I also opted for the shiny bomber jacket with gold zippers.

If you watch carefully, there are no graphic prints in this outfit but everything is color coordinated, with black and gold being the main colours. It's a really simple and infallible combo: jeans, t-shirt, jacket and sneakers; the beauty of it comes when you find little details that automatically elevate the whole thing. Simple combos are always a good idea and they're the core of an outfit; think about it as a salad: the different types of greens are the base and what you add afterwards is what gives it a great flavour.

Ya hablé de básicos modernos en un post pasado y, para éste, ahora quiero desarrollar la idea de combos simples. La simplicidad es una idea clave cuando hablamos de moda; estoy seguro que han escuchado menos es más un millón de veces y, cuando se trata de gente que quiere mejorar su estilo personal, es una de las cosas más importantes.

Creé este atuendo en alianza con Mango, una marca fast-fashion que no es tan cara, y me concentré en ropa negra: una polo clásica negra y jeans entubados negros. Esas son las piezas clave en este atuendo; ya que no quería hacer un conjunto todo en negro, añadí los tennis que tienen detalles en color blanco y dorado; basado en ellos, también opté por una chamarra bomber semi-brillante con cierres dorados.

Si se fijan bien, no hay estampados o gráficos en este atuendo pero todos los colores están coordinados, con negro y dorado siendo los dos principales. Es un combo simple pero infalible: jeans, playera, chamarra y tennis; la belleza en él está en los pequeños detalles que automáticamente lo elevan. Los combos simples son siempre una buena idea y son la base de los atuendos; piensen como si fuera una ensalada: los vegetales verdes son el esqueleto y lo que añaden después es lo que le dará un gran sabor.
