I heard once that love is friendship on fire.

I'm wearing:

1. Striped hat, from Zara.

2. Burnout sleeveless sweatshirt, from Asos.

3. Super skinny jeans, from Zara. 

4. Lace up leather boots, from Asos.

5. The accessories are, also, from Asos.

Everything must come to an end and, this week, the London 2012 Olympic Games did. Also, every end brings a new beginning and, unfortunately, school started again. If it was my call, I'd live in perpetual vacations. Don't get me wrong, I really like school but I'm not 100% happy there (never fully understood why). 

Anyhow, let's talk about more important things: my hat, for example, or my boots. This look was completely made thinking about summer. I'm not a big fan of dressing accordingly to weather or seasons, I prefer combos that work all year long. So, I paired the sleeveless sweatshirt with a striped hat and skinny jeans with leather boots. I'm the kinda guy who wears all-black on spring and no sleeves on winter.

En fin, hablemos de cosas más importantes: mi sombrero, por ejemplo, o mis botas. Este atuendo fue creado pensando completamente en el verano. No soy el más fan de vestirse de acuerdo con el clima o las estaciones, prefiero hacer combos que funcionen todo el año. Así, junté el sombrero de rayas y la sudadera sin mangas con jeans entubados y botas de piel. Soy el tipo de persona que usa todo-negro en verano y nada de mangas en invierno.

Let's make an ad, y'all

A couple months ago, we had to create an ad as a school assignment. We chose to do it for Cupcake Ok, which is a little cupcake company run by my good friend and occasional photographer Marlen, because she could really use it to benefit her business, hehe. It was a long, long day that included laughs and some yelling but, mostly, laughs. 

I know the editing isn't perfect but I did my best job and the cool thing about the ad is the whole "share a smile" and empathy emphasis. It makes everyone smile, or at least produce a smirk. In any case, this post is only the beginning of audiovisual treats on this blog. There's a motion editorial coming soon and many more surprises. As for the cupcakes, unfortunately, you can only purchase them if you live in Mexico City. If you do, please read below C:

// Hace un par de meses, tuvimos esta tarea que consistía en crear un spot publicitario. Decidimos hacerlo para Cupcake Ok, que es una pequeña compañía de panquecitos creada y dirigida por mi buena amiga y fotógrafa ocasional: Marlen; todo esto porque no queríamos que el comercial se quedara sólo como una tarea, queríamos que tuviera utilidad en el mundo real. Fue un día muy largo que incluyó muchas risas, gritos pero, mayormente, muchas risas. 

Sé que la edición no es perfecta pero hice lo mejor que pude; lo mejor de este comercial es toda la onda empática y de contagiar sonrisas. En serio, todo mundo sonríe o al menos saca una medio sonrisa. En cualquier caso, este comercial es sólo el inicio en la introducción de muchos proyectos audiovisuales a este blog. Hay un motion editorial en camino y muchas sorpresas que aún guardo bajo la manga. En cuanto a los panquecitos se refiere, si viven en la Ciudad de México, pueden hacer un pedido directamente con Marlen aquí, ella puede trasladar cualquier diseño a betún y confitería. Es increíble.

I'm an ugly brunette

The sentence that inspired all.

I'm wearing:

1.Burgundy silk t-shirt, from Zara.

2. Rolled up jeans, from Zara.

3. Burgundy sneakers, from Vans.

4. Horses scarf, from Pull & Bear.

5. Aqua sunglasses, from Zara. 

I guess it's safe to say I'm not the most handsome dude on the planet. I guess we all have some days/hours/periods of time where we don't feel very confident and I'm going through that right now. "The mean reds", Holly Golightly called them, and yes, they're quite mean. I don't know exactly what's wrong but what I do know is that, eventually, the mean reds will be gone. 

I've been working on a multimedia project with some of my friends and this week we filmed some scenes that didn't turn like we expected them to. It's hard to shoot a quality project with a Bloggie-style camera. Guess that contributed to the rain on my parade. 

On the other hand, the positive one, I really, really love rolled up jeans. I feel like showing a little ankle gives the whole look a little something cool (of course, no socks when you're showing ankle). I'm always matching colors on my outfits, I feel more comfortable doing that, and the Vans turned out to be almost the same color that the t-shirt.

Supongo que todos tenemos días/horas/periodos de tiempo donde no nos sentimos con mucha autoestima y estoy pasando por uno de esos baches ahora. "The mean reds", los llamaba Holly Golightly, y sí, son malos. No sé exactamente qué anda mal pero sé que, eventualmente, los mean reds pasarán (perdón por no traducir pero "los malos rojos" no suena muy bien).

He estado trabajando en un proyecto multimedia con varios amigos y esta semana grabamos un par de escenas que no salieron como queríamos. Es difícil hacer grabaciones de súper calidad cuando sólo tienes una cámara tipo Bloggie. Creo que eso contribuyó a mi estado emocional actual. 

Por el otro lado,  el positivo, amo, amo, amo mucho los jeans enrollados. Creo que enseñar un poquito de tobillo está buena onda y le da un toque padre al atuendo (por supuesto, sin calcetines). Siempre combino colores en mi ropa, no soy el más fan de andar descombinado, me siento más cómodo haciendo lo que hago. Los Vans combinaron bien con la playera vino. 

Anyway, the reds will turn burgundies, then browns and then creams, normal I guess.
