Suit Up @ SuitSupply.

Recently, Suitsupply (a Dutch apparel brand) arrived in Mexico. I was invited to the store to get to know everything about it. The event was a little brunch with other bloggers and personnel from the brand; they explained why Suitsupply is different from other brands and now, I'll tell you why I think it's really, really, cool.

"Democratizing suits", that's an amazing idea. Suitsupply was born with that principle; Fokke de Jong, creator and founder, believed that everybody should have access to a great suit without paying a fortune for it. Suitsupply evolved from that thought and now offers a wide range of tailored suits with modern designs at really affordable prices.

Their strategy is to focus on the quality of their pieces; doing controversial ad campaigns and locating the stores in unconventional places to save rent money. The Mexican store is a little exception, since it's located in Masaryk, one of the fanciest busiest streets in the city, but they managed to keep everything else about the store aligned with the original idea of the brand. It's a really cool store, the perfect fit for a really cool brand.

"Democratizar los trajes", es una idea grandiosa. Suitsupply nació con ese principio; Fokke de Jong, creador y fundador, creía que todos merecemos tener acceso a un gran traje sin pagar una fortuna or él. Suitsupply evolucionó de ese pensamiento y ahora ofrece muchos diseños, entallados, modernos y costeables (los precios van de cinco mil pesos hacia arriba que, podría parecer caro a primera instancia, pero no hay que olvidar que hay proceso de entallado tras esto).

Su estrategia es concentrarse en la calidad de las piezas; hacer campañas publicitarias que den de qué hablar y localizar sus tiendas en lugares poco convencionales para ahorrar en dinero de renta. La tienda mexicana es una pequeña excepción, pues está en Masaryk, una de las avenidas más lujosas y ocupadas de la ciudad. Aún con eso, lograron mantener todo lo demás fiel a la esencia de la marca. Es una tienda padre, perfecta para una marca padre.

They also offer tailoring services within the store, so you'll leave with a perfectly tailored suit.
