If They Bring You Down... They're Not Your Friends

Wisdom #58 If they bring you down, they're not your friends
I had a big revelation the other day: I'm not taking crap from anyone anymore. I got to that conclusion when I realise that some "friends" were raining on my parade, has that ever happened to you? I bet it has. I noticed that I have some people in my life that appear to be nice and cool but, unless they need something, they're not really nice to me.

It happened mostly on social media and I'll share a few examples: I uploaded a photo telling people that I was feeling sad and this "friend" left a comment (and didn't like the photo) saying "are you freaking serious *rolling eyes emoji*"; another "friend" posted a comment into one of my photos saying that I looked really pale, I thought he was joking with the whole "Vampire Henry" thing but when I texted him, he was mean about it. They're also always giving hate when I ask something in a poll and stuff like that.

The thing is, I don't need that right now and I don't think I ever will. If they don't like what I post, they're welcome to stop following me; if they don't like the things I do or the way I behave, they can walk away. That's how I came to the conclusion: IF THEY BRING YOU DOWN, THEY'RE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. It's one thing to be critical and try to help when you see someone's doing a potentially dangerous or harmful thing but it's very different to just be hating on people. If you're in a similar situation (on social media or in real life), let those "friends" walk away and remember that your vibe attracts your tribe, surround yourself with people that make you feel safe and supported, okay?

Love always,
Henry.
