Outfits with cropped sweaters and white boots

I'm wearing: 

1. Cropped striped sweater in black and white, Pringle of Scotland x H&M.

2. Super skinny jeans in black, from H&M.

3. Leather Chelsea boots with double creeper sole in white, Fenty x Puma.

4. Rings, from H&M.

Flattery is the act of giving excessive compliments, I've never been too good at that. I remember my Mom telling me that I should be more diplomatic in life, that it was a good quality and it would take me places. I follow her advice 'til this day, but I always manage to stop when it looks like I'm sucking up to a person; flattering too much makes me uncomfortable so, I chose a different path: to be always nice and honest (but I try to be nice while being honest, there's no need to be harsh except, of course, when harshness is needed). 

In the field that I work in, flattery is a form of currency, and I do mean every word. I've seen people literally kissing ass to others just to get a campaign with a brand, an invite to an event, you name it... The entertainment industry is tough and there's so much "fake-nice" people going around, that really drives me nuts. Maybe if I were more like them I'd be further advanced in my career but that's not who I am and it's not who I want to become so, yes, I stick to the occasional compliment and polite chit-chat, hoping that people realise that we're all out here doing our thing and value the fact that I'm being honest instead of a kiss-ass.

Moving onto the outfit, I got all the main garments during my trip to Alabama. Ever since I saw the Pringle of Scotland x H&M collection, I knew that I needed some of the pieces and this sweater really spoke to me. I like the mock turtle neck, the fact that it's a bit cropped but still has a semi-puff sleeve, the embroidery, everything, haha. I've been hunting white boots for a while and, even though these aren't the white leather Chelsea boots from Doc Martens, I found this pair from Fenty x Puma at an outlet for 35 dollars, pretty sweet huh? Plus, check out the double creeper sole, it's just fantastic. Again, I'm wearing a loose top and a tighter fit pant, it really works for me, but what do you think?

// Halagar es el acto de dar cumplidos en exceso, nunca he sido muy bueno para eso. Recuerdo que mi mamá me decía que debía ser más "político" en la vida, que era una buena cualidad y que me ayudaría a triunfar. Sigo su consejo hasta este día, pero siempre logro detenerme cuando siento que estoy siendo barbero con una persona; halagar demasiado me hace sentir incómodo, entonces, elegí un camino diferente: siempre ser amable y honesto (pero trato de ser amable mientras soy honesto, no hay necesidad de ser rudo excepto, claro, cuando es necesario ser rudo, jaja).

En el área en que trabajo, los halagos son una moneda de cambio, y lo digo en serio. He visto gente literalmente lamiendo los pies a otros sólo para conseguir una campaña con una marca, una invitación a un evento, ustedes pongan la situación... La industria del entretenimiento es difícil y hay mucha gente que es falsamente amable por ahí, me vuelve loco. Quizá si yo fuera más como ellos estaría más lejos en im carrera pero no es quién soy y no es en quién me quiero convertir así que, sí, me aferro al cumplido ocasional y la plática amable, esperando que la gente se cuenta que todos estamos aquí haciendo lo nuestro y valoren el hecho de que soy honesto y no un lambiscón.

Pasando al look del día, compré todas las piezas principales durante mi viaje a Alabama. Desde que vi la colección de Pringle of Scotland x H&M, supe que necesitaba algunas piezas y este sweater realmente me llamó. Me gusta el casi cuello de tortuga, el hecho de que es como cortado pero también tiene volumen en las mangas, la parte bordada, todo, jaja. He estado en búsqueda de botas blancas por un raro y, aún cuando éstas no son las Chelsea boots de piel blanca de Doc Martens, encontré este par de Fenty x Puma en un outlet por 35 dólares, muy bien ¿no? Además, vean por favor la doble suela de creeper, es fantástica. De nuevo, estoy utilizando una parte de arriba más floja con algo más pegado abajo, realmente funciona para mí pero ¿ustedes qué piensan?
