Outfits with floral shirts and turtlenecks

I'm wearing: 

1. Distressed denim jacket in light blue, from Zaful.

3. Turtleneck t-shirt in black, from Zara.

5. Leather Chelsea boots with double creeper sole, Fenty x Puma.

One of the greater things about living in this era is that we get a lot more freedom than our ancestors had; of course, we still face so many limitations because of our race, gender, nationality and so on but, hey, it's better than in the 1800s. Freedom, unfortunately, is a double-edged sword because (and here's where I tie in the empathy factor that I chose for March's theme) you can choose to support one cause but no the other. Everything comes down to your choices.

This month, I've been choosing to support the feminist movement a lot more, giving a little to a cause that it's important to me. Some will choose to support a different cause, or to not empathise at all, that's a personal stance and something that only through putting yourself in the other person's shoes will lead to knowledge and understanding. I'm not asking you to be something or to support the same things I do, all I want is for you to train your empathy, to care about others and not just yourself. A little bit goes a long way.

Moving onto today's outfit, I wanted to juxtapose two items that are not regularly seen together: a floral shirt and a turtleneck (mainly because I just got this shirt but it's a thin fabric and it was freaking cooooold outside). I'm fairly new to wearing turtleneck items, they have to be non-constrictive or else I'll feel like I'm being choked... But really, a black comfy turtleneck is a great piece to have in your wardrobe and it looks surprisingly cool with a short sleeve shirt. Here, the floral pattern just adds a pop of texture and charm, I like that it looks more Japanese garden than beach print uncle-wear, haha.

Este mes, he elegido apoyar un algo más al movimiento feminista, dando un poquito a una causa que es importante para mí. Algunos elegirán apoyar una causa diferente o no empalizar para nada, esa es una postura personal y algo que sólo poniéndose en la perspectiva de otra persona llevará a conocimiento y entendimiento. No les pido que sean algo o que apoyen las mismas cosas que yo ago, lo único que quiero es que entrenen su empatía, que se preocupen por otros y no sólo ustedes mismos. Un poquito puede hacer una gran diferencia. 

Pasando al outfit de hoy, quise yuxtaponer dos prendas que no suelen verse juntas muy a menudo: una camisa florar y un cuello de tortuga (principalmente porque recién compré esta camisa pero es en una tela delgadita y hacía muchísimo frío afuera). Soy bastante nuevo en esto de usar cuellos de tortuga, tienen que ser flojos en el cuello o si no siento que me están asfixiando... Pero en serio, un cuello de tortuga cómodo es una gran pieza para agregar a tu closet y, sorpresivamente, se ve cool con una camisa de manga corta. Aquí, el patrón floral le da un toque de textura y encanto, me gusta que se ve más como jardín japonés que como ropa de playa de tío, jaja.
