dear diary: i lived a "The Hills" moment

In my previous post, I talked about meeting up with a former best friend after years of not really speaking to each other and how I was feeling like it was going to be the last time I ever saw him. Turns out... it really wasn't; we talked and things felt, somehow, kind of like they used to and, after some consideration, we agreed to try and salvage this friendship.

I lived a "The Hills" moment during that conversation and it was very surreal because I said something like: I spent years missing a best friend that no longer exists and it's not like I stopped missing you but, at some point, I started to think less and less about you... And totally felt like Lauren Conrad, haha. It's been years but the wisdom I gained from her remains rooted to my soul and, who knows, maybe I'll have better luck than her with saving friendships.

// En mi post pasado, hablé de reunirme con un ex-mejor amigo después de no hablar mucho entre nosotros y cómo sentía que ésa iba a ser la última vez que lo viera. Resulta que no fue así; hablamos y las cosas se sintieron, en cierta forma, parecidas a cómo solían ser y, después de considerarlo, ambos aceptamos tratar de salvar esta amistad.

Viví un momento de "The Hills" durante la conversación y fue muy curioso porque dije algo como: pasé años extrañando a un mejor amigo que ya no existe y no es como que dejé de extrañarte pero, en algún punto, comencé a pensar menos y menos en ti... Y me sentí completamente como Lauren Conrad, jaja. Han pasado años pero la sabiduría que gané de ella se mantiene fuerte en mi alma y, quién sabe, tal vez tendré mejor suerte salvando mis amistades que ella.
