Rule #2: Choose Your Audience

The second rule, after knowing who you are as a brand, is to choose the people that you'll talk to, your audience. This group of people will be known as your target, those who are most likely to listen and follow your advice. If you don't know exactly who you're audience is, start creating content for the people that you would like to talk to, that's a pretty solid first step.

It's not about pleasing everyone, it's about connecting with the ones you want. It's also important to not lose yourself in the process of connecting with your audience: balance is crucial; don't try to create for your audience, do it for yourself and adapt that content to what your readers/followers want to see. If you lose your identity, your brand is inexistent and you'll be back at square one.

Love always,
Henry.

Rule #1: Know Who You Are

Rule number one to brand yourself successfully: know who you are. It's important that you're aware of your identity, what you like and dislike, to have a reachable goal. You may not now where you're heading exactly but you can be sure of where you're from and how your past has shaped you into the person you are now.

Once you're sure about that, you can move forward with a clear direction. It's okay to try different things, to research, explore. I didn't know exactly who I was when I first started this blog and, being honest here, I haven't figured that out a hundred percent yet, but I feel like I'm closer to that than to not knowing at all. I have a sense of who I am and what I want to share with the world. Rule number one is honored.

Love always,
Henry.

May is all about BRANDING

Why the shuck am I talking about branding?

Hey guys! I thought it would be fun if the month of May was dedicated to branding and brand strategies. In case you don't know this, I studied journalism and advertising in college, therefore, branding became a very important subject in my life, more so after starting a blog. It's a big deal, fellas.

Owning a blog is like having a brand, you are your own brand now and that is really complicated. But I think I've learned a few things here and there that are useful and I want to share those ideas with you. Even if you don't have a blog, it's good to treat yourself like a brand, it makes life a bit clearer and your goals and ambitions easier to achieve.

For this month, I have a couple of collaboration projects with different brands, I'll tell you how it works and why I'm working with them; outfit shoots and blogger collabs will also be present; I'll talk about social media and my newest YouTube channel and, of course, the book club and life journals will be back once again. The playlist reflects my current mood for May. Hope you guys like it and that you stick here with me to learn or debate a bit about branding.

You are your own brand, your own boss.
Love,

¿Por qué diablos estoy hablando de branding?

Hey amigos!
