A lighter palette

I'm wearing:

1. Cream sweater, from Zara.

2. Polo shirt, from Weekend.

3. White skinny jeans, from Zara. 

4. Cream/beige/white sneakers, from Lacoste.

5. Bicycle necklace, from the Chinese supermarket. 

85% of the time I'm wearing black, blue, grey, brown... darker colors. And I thought about mixing it up by trying a lighter palette. I saw an all-white ensemble on Tumblr or something and that inspired this look. The thing was... I felt it was a little boring so I added cream pieces and the gold bicycle necklace. 

I found that bicycle charm on my favourite Chinese supermarket and it was broken or something because it turned out super cheap, like really, really cheap (half a dollar or less). The only thing I had to add were two hooks to make it a necklace. Pretty cool, huh?

Now, I really don't know if this lighter palette is a good one for me; it's weird and light and clean but don't know if it's really me. I'm a darker clothing kinda guy. Still, I had to try it and the results aren't bad, I think. 

// El 85% del tiempo uso ropa negra, azul, gris, café... colores obscuros. Pensé variarle un poco e intentar una paleta de colores más clara. Vi un conjunto todo blanco en Tumblr y eso me inspiró a crear este look. La onda fue que era terriblemente aburrido, así que lo aderecé con un par de prendas color crema y un collar de bicicleta. 

Encontré el colgante de bicicleta en mi súper chino favorito. Estaba roto o algo y salió súper, súper barato (como cinco pesos o algo así). Le añadí un par de ganchitos y, voilá, nació un collar. 

En conclusión, no sé si esta paleta de colores es lo mio. Se siente súper raro estar tan claro y limpio, no sé si me representa bien. Soy más obscuro, ja. Aún así, fue un buen experimento y algo que realmente quería hacer. Creo que los resultados no salieron mal, ¿cierto?

For a Zayn Malik inspired look / outfit, I'm wearing:

1. College sweater, from Pull & Bear. 

2. Black/gray polo shirt, from Pull & Bear.

3. Tight chinos, also from Pull & Bear.

4. Black leather boots, from Asos.

This is the final day of One Direction week. I must admit, it was quite difficult (particularly this last look) because sometimes I didn't have a friend to take the photos or I was lacking a particular piece or the light was against me. One of the things I'm really proud of is the that it was just one week (I didn't cheat). I committed to this project and I ended up really loving it. 

Zayn Malik's style is my favourite along with Louis Tomlinson's. Zayn's just really cool and has the best clothes in the band. The easy way was to use a varsity jacket but I don't have a varsity jacket that wasn't challenging enough. So I searched and searched for alternatives. In the end, I discovered, the commonplace and the true trademark was the sporty-college-ish vibe. It's a look similar to a school uniform but with much more edge, I think. 

This is one of my favourite sweaters and I mixed it with my favourite polo shirt and gray chinos. The edge comes from the boots, they toughen the whole look. I wasn't really sure of this look (at first) but I ended up loving it. The varsity jacket crisis was demolished. He. 

// Este es el último día en la semana One Direction. Debo admitir que a veces fue muy difícil (este atuendo en particular lo fue); a veces no tenía amigos que me ayudaran con las fotos, o no tenía una prenda que quería para complementar el look, o la luz estaba en mi contra. Mil cosas. Una de las cosas que me llena de orgullo fue que me puse como meta fotografiar todo esto en una semana y en serio fue así (no hice trampa). Me comprometí con este proyecto y terminé estimándolo mucho. 

El estilo de Zayn Malik es mi favorito junto con el de Louis Tomlinson. Zayn tiene como gran buena onda y la ropa más padre en la banda. El camino fácil era usar una chamarra besibolera pero no tengo una no era tan desafiante. Así que tuve que buscar y buscar y buscar alternativas. Al final, descubrí que la verdadera esencia era la vibra deportiva-escolar. Es un atuendo similar a un uniforme de escuela pero con mucha más onda. 

Usé uno de mis sweaters favoritos y lo combiné con mi polo favorita y chinos grises. La onda viene de las botas, creo que eso es lo que levanta el atuendo y hace que se vea mucho menos ñoño. Al principio, no estaba muy convencido con este look pero terminé amándolo. La crisis de la chamarra beisbolera fue superada. JA. 

Bottom line, the lads from One Direction have great style, chemistry and aura; they can inspire so many guys to take a risk (sometimes without even taken a big risk) and try some pieces that they wouldn't normally do. They're true style icons and really stylish dudes. 

// Al final del día, los chavitos de One Direction tienen gran estilo, química y vibra; pueden inspirar a muchos otros chavitos a tomar un riesgo (a veces ni siquiera uno grande) e intentar ponerse prendas que quizá no usarían normalmente. Son verdaderos íconos de estilo.

For a Liam Payne inspired look / outfit, I'm wearing:

1. Blue plaid shirt with oversized neck, from Asos.

2. Bluje slim fit jeans, from Zara. 

3. Dragon sneakers, from Adidas.

4. Knitted scarf, from my mom (he).

5. Wristwatch, from Tommy Hilfiger. 

Sometimes I think Liam Payne is like the dad on One Direction. It's really funny; he's not the oldest, he doesn't even look old but he wears the most classic and safe pieces. There's hardly anything wrong with that, I actually like his style because is really versatile. The trademark I identified was the plaid pattern in shirts. He matches that with cardigans or with scarves (which I think is pretty awesome), everything is kept really simple. It's a safe look that always looks good. 

I put on a shirt with an oversized collar from Asos and covered it with a scarf that my mom knitted for me. I think it looks kinda cool. The rest I kept simple, blue jeans and white sneakers (both very versatile items) and the wristwatch as an accessory. Really, all the power goes to the main item: the plaid shirt. 

Every guy should, at least, have one plaid shirt in his closet (every girl too! He). It's a classic piece that works in every possible scenario. Really powerful. I think every guy in One Direction has a plaid shirt but it's definitely Liam's signature piece. That concludes day 4 of 1D Week, tomorrow I'll post the last feature: Zayn Malik. 

// A veces pienso que Liam Payne es como el papá en One Direction. Es muy chistoso, porque no es el más grande (ni siquiera se ve tan grande) pero es el que se viste como mayor, él usa las prendas más clásicas y seguras. No tiene algo de malo, de hecho me gusta mucho que lo haga porque es muy versatil. Su pieza clave es la camisa de cuadros o camisa granjera (como yo le digo). Las usa con sweaters, bufandas (que el combo me encanta), todo muy simple. Es un look seguro que siempre se ve bien. 

Yo usé una camisa de cuadros con cuello extra-grande de Asos; el cuello no se ve porque lo tapé con una bufanda que mamá tejió para mi. Me gusta, creo que tiene onda. El resto lo mantuve muy sencillo, jeans azules y tennis blancos (ambos son elementos muy versátiles) y el reloj como accesorio. En serio, todo el poder va a la prenda principal: la camisa de cuadros. 

Todo hombre debería tener, al menos, una camisa granjera en su armario (toda niña también. JA). Es una pieza clásica, icónica, que funciona bien en cualquier escenario. Es poderosa. Creo que cada miembro de One Direction tiene una, pero es Liam el que le saca más provecho. Esto concluye el día 4 en la semana 1D. Mañana postearé el último look, inspirado en Zayn Malik. 

That jungle is still my school. It's so weird.
