2. T-shirt with see-through skulls, from Codes Combine.
3. Super skinny jeans in black, from Dr. Denim.
4. Black wrinkled suede boots, from Asos.
5. Rings, from H&M.
Get this look for $175+ on Lookastic: Black Leather Biker Jacket, Black Mesh Crew-neck T-shirt, Black Skinny Jeans, and Black Suede Chelsea Boots
I think I've said it before but, one of the greatest things of being involved in fashion, journalism and blogging is meeting new people. A few of them, unfortunate, have turned out to be quite shallow and dull but every now and then, I'm presented with a person that is quite the interesting character and, really, those are the ones to watch and keep around you. Wouldn't you agree?

So, meet Jorge Corona, a fellow fashion blogger I recently met, from The Factory Boy. I think, from day one, we kicked off things pretty nicely; plus we have tons of things in common and, what I love most, he has an interesting brain. It's so cool to talk to other bloggers about things that aren't fashion related, some of others I've met are really into that and it gets boring after a while. But not with Jorge, no. Of course, we discuss fashion but we both know that the world is bigger than that; like, say, we also have pizza and K-Pop in this planet.

What I'm saying here is that, yes, it's great to get involved with people that share your line of work, but the best thing ever happens when you get friendships out of that. So go out there, meet people, you never know when you'll meet a new friend that shares your love for Skins, the color black and one you can spend time and laugh and have fun.

In the meantime, don't forget to check out Jorge's site: The Factory Boy.

Love always,
Henry.

Stylish Dudes: Julian Sebastian

For the last couple of months I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts on life and fashion within the Stylish Dudes section. Last month, the interviewee was French blogger, sports fanatic and photographer: Clément Lasserre. This month, I got the chance to interview one of my favourite guys from Lookbook.nu; meet the nostalgic, rocker and hat lover: Julian Sebastian.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I'm Julian, 19, and I study psychology at a noted German university. I'm originally from Southern Germany, where you can hardly find anything but misty woods and gaping mountains... So I spent the majority of my childhood on the outside and between my bookshelves. I think those days have put a great effect on my perspective on arts and fashion. I'm looking for the beauty in life, you know.

Describe an average day of your life:

I usually get up pretty early. The morning is my favourite time of day, so I try to enjoy it as intensely as possible. I take the tube to Uni and listen to the daily bunch of lectures (more or less awake). My free time is actually always filled up with taking photographs, reading, strolling through thrift stores, bookshops and Starbucks.

Since I've got the most amazing lady you could ever imagine by my side, I never have to worry about cooking. She's half-Italian, but in the kitchen (let me tell ya), she's obviously an entire one.

What are you really passionate about?

Shoes. Hats. London. Coffee. And Harry Potter, hahaha.

What's the fashion/arts scene for guys in Germany? Are you a part of it?

I don't like Germany's fashion scene that much. It's not very expanded and it actually agglomerates in the big cities like Berlin or Hamburg. The street style is not very innovative, people don't like to attract attention here. It's always the same boring mixture of overpriced vintage stuff and trend pieces. I prefer the alternative scene much more (though I am part of the fashion scene, as I model. My agency is modelwerk.de).

When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

Since I have a bigger sister, I've been in touch with fashion for as long as I can remember. She told me that fashion is a way to express yourself - I mean, we have to dress, so why shouldn't we have a little fun with it?

Well, I have to admit that it has not always been easy for a young boy in a small town on the countryside to wear fashionable clothing, you can't even imagine how cruel kids can be. But hey - I can be cruel too, hahaha. What I want to say within these words is that the most important thing is to do whatever you want to and, hell yes, never listen to anyone but yourself. I know that can be hard.

What's your opinion on blogging and blogging about fashion?

Well, OK, I really don't want to sound mean but I got a little sick of it. I only read a couple of blogs (fashion and photoblogs) which I really like and that I've been following for quite a long time now. Blogging has unfortunately become a very shot-lived trend. Blogs pop up one day and disappear the next. Everything's about getting followers, hypes or whatever and that makes me sick.

But don't get me wrong, blogging is generally a wonderful thing! I spend hours scrolling through Tumblr and Blogspot, searching inspiration for outfits and photography.

Why did you decide to do a joint blog with your girlfriend instead of having your own?

Frankly - I didn't want to be a part of that superficial community. But as I take tons of photos and have no place to show them, my girl convinced me (after years) to start a personal style blog. It's just nice to have more photos up, you know.
Your looks are always amazing, they have a nostalgic vibe, a little sadness (I love that). What's your main inspiration while doing your photos and; does anybody help you take them or you do it by yourself?

Thank you. I take all of the pictures on my own. My inspiration is varied, but I always refer to the dark side in some way: dark forest, night-time, loneliness, childhood, depression, silence, light... Anything that touches me.

Who would you consider a stylish person from this time?

For me, it's important to tell a story with your look, to show what inspires you and how you feel. For me, style means a certain line, a vibe, something that appears in all your looks and makes them fit together.

My favourite  bloggers are Violet Ell (surprise, surprise), Madeline Pendleton and Olivia Harrison. But there are also some models and musicians like Abbey Lee Kershaw, The Horrors or Cara Delevingne.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What will you be doing?

I will have finished my studies and I have absolutely no idea what will happen then. I guess I'm gonna work as a neuroscientist and therapisht. Actually, I don't want to stay in Germany, I hope it will be possible to move to England or France. But I had to learn very early that it's hardly possible to make long-term plans for the future, so let's just wait and see what happens. It's nice when life surprises you.
When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center? (Mine is going to the park and swing 'til I'm dizzy).

Ooh. I have to try that swinging thing, it sounds awesome! I actually just try to get calm by taking some time for myself. I love to take long walks in the evening, through the dark silent streets. The twilight can be so beautiful. Reading is also very essential for me. For those who are rather the outgoing kind of person, try it with burning the furniture.

What are some of your favourite musicians, books, TV series and artists?

Oh, my taste in TV series is rather cheesy. I'm addicted to Desperate Housewives and The Simpsons, ahaha! My favourite models are Abbey Lee Kershaw, Cara Delevingne, Sky Ferreira, Freja Beha Erichsen, Cole Mohr...

I usually listen to indie music, brit pop, electronic. My favourite book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Brönte. I also love Tolstoi, Shakespeare, Faulkner and, especially, Austen. Oh! And J.K. Rowling, for sure, hahaha.

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Dressing can be so exciting. Just try whatever you like, it's you who decides how to present yourself! Don't listen to whatever anyone might say, just wear what you like and what makes you feel confident and comforted.
Thank you very much Julian! If you want to know more about this amazing, amazing guy, be sure to catch him on LookBook.nu, check out his joint blog with the lovely Laura Catoni and keep an eye on him, he's truly awesome.

Stylish dudes: Clément Lasserre

For the last couple of months I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts on life and fashion within the Stylish Dudes section. Last month, the interviewee was UK 60's soul trapped in modernity Charlie Vandenburg. This month, I interviewed french blogger Clément Lasserre, a sports addicted cool photographer and well dressed guy. Enjoy.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I live in Dax, a little town in the southwest of France. I'm in Borda's High School in Dax and I hope to graduate in July. I'm crazy about sports, especially basketball and fitness. I also appreciate arts (photography, painting, literature...) AND I'm, of course, fond of fashion and modeling!

Describe an average day of your life:

That's too hard to answer because all of my days are different.

What are you really passionate about?

I'm really passionate about sports. I practice EVERY DAY. It's like a drug and I'm addicted to it!
When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

I owned a photography page on Facebook and when I posted photos of my looks, some people wanted me to sign on LOOKBOOK.NU aaaaaaaaaaaaaand... I did it!

I really like your outfit photos; they seem to have an ever young but rebel vibe (which is awesome). What's your main inspiration while doing your photos and; does anybody help you take them or you do it by yourself?

Well, my inspiration comes from the 70's/80's and the British culture. I'm crazy about vintage/retro products but I enjoy grunge and chic clothes.

At the beginning, I took the photos myself with a tripod but now, my father helps me and it's better. Hahaha!

What's the fashion/arts scene for guys in France? Are you a part of it?

The Paris Fashion Week is THE event, THE place to be! I'm not a male model who is walking in fashion shows for brands but I hope to become one of them... One day.
You're a freelance model and that's pretty awesome. Do you have a cool anecdote or favourite thing that's happened to you since you started modeling?

I'm just 18 years old and I don't have a lot of experience... I remember when the first brand contacted me to wear their clothes, it was... AWESOME!

What are some of your favourite musicians, books, TV series and artists?

Music: The Popopopo's, Skip The Use, Metronomy, Crystal Castles, Alt-J, BB Brunes.
Models: Jon Kortajarena, Sean O'Pry, Cara Delevigne, Francisco Lashowski.
Actors: I don't watch movies or TV.
Writers: Laurent Gounelle, Charles Baudelaire.
Photographers: Théo Gosselin, David Olkarni, Dave Hill.
Painters: Agnes Cecile, Edward Hopper.

Who would you consider a stylish person from this time?

I think that Rihanna is one of the most stylish singers in the world. Nonetheless, there's bloggers who are amazing, such as Luanna Perez, Lina Tesch, Ebba Zingmark, Jessica Christ, Juliett Kuczyska...
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What will you be doing?

In five years... Mhh... Well, I think I'll be in college, in my last years. Or maybe in another country (UK for example).

Share a dream/goal/ambition that you would love to accomplish soon:

Become a professional model... By the way, if an agency sees this interview, don't hesitate to contact me: clmtlsr@gmail.com.
When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

Spots, again and again. Usually, when I feel oppressed I play basketball or I work out!

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Be yourself and wear what you want to wear. It's very very very important to feel better in your skin!

Thank you Clément! If you want to know more about this amazing guy, be sure to see him on LookBook.nu, check out his Tumblr, his blog and follow him on Twitter.

Stylish Dudes: Charlie Vandenburg

For the last couple of months I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts on life and fashion within the Stylish Dudes section. Last month, the interviewee was Moldovan badass blogger Mike Motsok (whose blog shares his name) from Mike Motsok. This month, I interviewed Charlie 'Charlieo' Vandenburg, a 60's soul without a blog trapped in modern UK. Enjoy.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I'm Charlie from South Yorkshire. I went to Leeds University and now I live in Manchester. My age is not known.

Describe an average day of your life:

I get up, listen to some 60's music and decide what to wear. Sometimes I surf the internet, or go for a walk if I have time.

What are you really passionate about?

I'm passionate about feelings and emotions and the arts in general (film, music, literature).
How do you feel about blogging?

I'm not that into it to be honest. I do LookBook but do not actually have a blog. I'd enjoy it but just would not have the time to do a lookbook, plus a blog and a Tumblr, etc.

When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

Erm... Not sure. As long as I can remember, I really cannot stand the times we live in, I feel alienated. I connect so much more with older cultures and vibes and so it is almost like escapism dressing like you are from a different time with vintage clothes.

Who would you consider a stylish dude and why?

Erm... Anyone from the 60's or 50's, Andy Warhol, maybe? In terms of modern styles, I think the band 'The Drums' and 'The Horrors' are really cool. In terms of bloggers, I think Oscar Robertson is really cool and Violet El.

Your looks are always amazing, they have a cool rock & roll vibe. What's the fashion/arts scene for guys under 21 in the UK?

I am not a part of it, as I am not under 21... But it is really not good. Guys have these awful mustaches, and beanie hats and wear Vans trainers. Just awful.
You have the coolest jumpers! Is there any particular story about them that you remember/treasure?

Ermmm... I just buy them over time from vintage shops or eBay... There is one with foxes on that people love.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What will you be doing?

No idea... Hopefully this girl from Leamington Spa.
When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

Ermmm... not sure. I tend just to go for a walk, or watch a random video on YouTube to take my mind off things.

What are some of your favourite books, TV series, musicians and other artists?

Fav actors are Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Gregory Peck, I am also a fan of Jack Kerouac and Sylvia Plath.

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Ermmm, just do what coms naturally, if it feels right then wear it.

Thank you Charlie! If you want to know more about this amazing guy, be sure to see him on LookBook.nu and give him a like on Facebook.

Stylish Dudes: Mike Motsok

For the last couple of months I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts here for a new sub-section within Stylish Dudes. Last month, the interviewee was the 21 year old, really sophisticated, Parisian blogger Matthias Cornilleau from Styl(NOX)e. This month, I interviewed Moldovan (bad-ass) blogger Mike Motsok (whose blog shares his name) from Mike Motsok to start the year with a bang.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

It would take a long time to talk about my life, my family or my hobbies; but I'll try to be fast & short. I'm living in the Republic of Moldova. Here, I'm working in the entertainment industry, I was art director of a night club and PR'ing for a lot of clubs & cafés in the city I'm living. Now I'm working with a local fashion store & doing a lot of random & social projects. I write for a small Italian magazine & I'm also studyin' Visual Design in Milan at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA). I'm planning my own small business, so it's still a secret what it will be :)

Describe an average day of your life:

Unfortunately, I've had insomnia for the last 2-3 years, so I don't categorize my day by morning - day - evening - night. It's kinda all in one. But a normal, not random, day would be like this:

Bed - bathroom - coffee - cigarette - taxi/car - office - photoshoots - work meetings - coffee shop - project - project - project - and then... Uhmmm... I wish I could say warm bed with my girlfriend at night, with movies and rose wine but, unfortunately, I'm single now so I'm doing all that stuff alone.

Your Lookbook page says you are a journalist. Do you study journalism?

I do not study journalism, I just made a little journalism course & I'm working in that industry. I'm studying web design and soon I want to take psychology as my second faculty.

How do you feel about blogging?

Oh, I love bloggin' but, since last year, I do not have time for that and that makes me sad. I miss my Lookbook & blog times & I simply love the part of creating a small story in my posts.

When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

I've always tried to look good & dress well, but I became involved professionally in fashion like 2-3 years ago. It was spontaneous and I had the help of my ex-girlfriend Doina Ciobano from www.thegoldendiamonds.com, we started together.

Who would you consider a stylish dude from this time and why?

Definitely Kanye West, man, he's just a genius. He's one of my favorite artists and I really think he's the best dressed man in the house. I also like Jared Leto's style and can firmly say I like the style of some of my friend bloggers like Yannick K. from Germany, Mike Quyen from Romania and Adam Gallagher from USA.

Your looks are always cool and with a rebel vibe. What's the fashion scene like for guys under 21 in Moldova?

Here's the problem, guys in our country don't have a fashion sense and we do not have a good fashion scene here. I'm like one of the few people from here.

I really like your tattoos. When did you get your first one and which one is your favourite?

Oh! I was 16 when I made the first one, it was my initials on my right wrist. It's hard to say which one I like best, 'cause I have 12 and love all of them but I guess my favourite one is the one on my chest.

Where do you see yourself in five years? What will you be doing?

I hate questions about my future! I really don't know. I've got a lot of plans & dreams, and I'll try to reach all of them but one thing will definitely be: a family, and a baby girl named Miabella :)

When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

I ride. I just ride the lonely night streets smoking a cigarette and it's very important to hear music from The Weekend, Radiohead, Kings of Leon, and other genius artists.

What are some your favourite books, TV series, musicians and other artists?

Musicians: Kanye West, 30 seconds to Mars, Lana del Rey, Andre 3000, Kings of Leon, The XX.
Writers: Osho.
Painters: Salvador Dalí.
Actors: Leo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Jared Leto, Will Smith, Rachel McAdams, Jessica Alba.
Photographers: Terry Richardson.

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Guys, just be yourself and don't try to copy someone else. You are unique, try to remain so.

Haters make me famous.

Thank you Mike! If you wanna know more about this awesome guy, be sure to catch him at his blog: Mike Motsok; his Tumblr; follow him on Twitter and see his looks at Lookbook.nu.

Stylish dudes: Matthias Cornilleau

For the last couple of months I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts here for a new sub-section within Stylish Dudes. Last month, the interviewee was the 16 year old, amazing, German blogger Leon David from Round Metal. This month, I interviewed Parisian (really sophisticated) blogger Matthias Cornilleau, from Styl(NOX)e to close the year on a high note.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I'm Matthias Cornilleau and I'm studying communication in Sciences-Po (Paris). I prefer being outside spending time with my friends. I'm also fond of drawing & buying new clothes or accessories. Paris is very nice but I enjoy traveling since it's possible: I hate the idea of being fixed somewhere.

Describe an average day of your life:

Wake up at 9am, a cup of tea, some classes before going to walk in Paris and have some coffee with my friends. And, if I've enough time & money, a little shopping in thrift or luxury stores. In the end, I like reading or listening to music with a glass of white wine in my place.

What are you really passionate about?

Drawing and traveling.

How do you feel about blogging?

Blogging is a good way to share an opinion without feeling the fashion professionals' pressure: you can express yourself (fashion, lifestyle, etc.) as you want to.

When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

I fell in love with haute-couture when I was 14, I think. The I focused on men's fashion and vintage causes.

Who would you consider a stylish dude from this time and why?

In my mind, the characters interpreted by Johnny Depp are always stylish... My favorite band is Archive and I like their black style.

Your looks are always amazing and very editorial. How do you feel about wearing that kind of clothes? What's the fashion scene like for guys under 21 in Paris?

Sorry but I don't now... Maybe cause I don't take part of it hahaha. About my clothes, sometimes I say to myself: "maybe it's not appropriate to the streets!"

I really like the titles for your looks on social media, especially the Greek mythology references, why do you use them?

Thanks! I'm fond of mythology. To me, it's really close to fashion, or my inspiration at least (colors, legends...).

Where do you see yourself in five years? What will you be doing?

I would like to be in a plane to Tokyo, or just traveling all the time; meeting new people, discovering each culture.

When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

I plan a trip abroad, or go to the country to breath fresh air.

What are some your favourite books, TV series, musicians and other artists?

As I've said, I'm a fan of Archive, I'm always listening to it. Series? Twin Peaks by David Lynch.

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Be yourself, dare to wear what you want and don't care about trends.

Thank you Matthias! If you wanna know more about this incredible guy, be sure to catch him at his blog: Styl(NOX)e; like him on Facebook, follow him on Twitter and see his looks at LookBook.nu and Chictopia

Happy New Year to everyone! Hen.

Stylish dudes: Leon David

So, here's the deal. I launched a new sub-section for Stylish dudes. I've been interviewing some cool guys and sharing their thoughts here. Last month, the interviewee was Aussie blogger, always dapper, Ben Galbraith. This month's is 16 year old, super cool, Leon David from Germany.

// Creé una nueva subsección de Stylish dudes. He entrevistado a chavitos buena onda y compartido sus respuestas aquí.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I'm a 16 year old, photography obsessed, student from Germany. I also love fahsion (who'd have thought it?), riding my motorcycle and watching movies. Living in Germany, respectively the little town I'm from, is okay. I mean, it's not really bad but also not very good.

Describe an average day of your life:

Uhm, on a school day, I have to get up very early (about 6 am), getting ready, driving to school, doing homework/study, meeting friends and/or take a few photos (mostly for Lookbook.nu) and watching an episode of O.C. California or some such.

What are you really passionate about?

Photography. And fashion.

How do you feel about blogging?

I'm very new with this blog-thing, so I'm never sure in which style I should write or, above all, about what, haha. But I hope to get better and inspire people with my blog.

When did you become invested in fashion; how was that process?

I really don't know. I became invested in fashion about a year ago but I have no idea why. Maybe, becasue I spent more time on websites like Tumblr or Lookbook.nu.

Who would you consider as a stylish dude from this time and why?

I know, that sounds so stereotyped and shitty, but it would be a guy who doesn't care about what people think and tries to find his own style. And he would definitely wear skinny jeans, in my opinion one of the biggest trends of the past decade.

You're really young and have pretty cool style. How's the fashion scene in Germany for guys under 21?

I don't think there is a fashion scene for guys under 21. There's a general fashion scene but I'm not really into it. The only thing I can tell you is that in the past few weeks I had many great conversations, which simply developed via Facebook/Lookbook with boys my age all over Europe.

I really like your photo diaries. What's your main motivation for doing them?

Thank you very much. The answer is, again, my love for photography. I just love trying to capture a city or country I visit with my photography so people get a pure impression of it.

When you're feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

Mostly sleeping, haha, or motorcycling.

What are some of your favourite books, TV series, musicians and artists?

Musicians: Left Boy, The XX, The Kooks, AC/DC, Eminem, Modest Mouse.

Books: The catcher in the Rye; The boy in the striped pajamas.

TV Series: O.C. California, 90210, Gossip Girl, The Big Bang Theory.

Artists: Elliot Erwitt (photographer), Sebastiao Ribeiro Salgado (photographer), Cristoph Schaller (photographer and fashion blogger).

What would you say to someone seeking general fashion advice?

Spend some time on it. Get inspiration on the internet, on the streets, in the stores, in order to find your style

Thank you very much Leon! Be sure to catch him on his blog: Round Metal; or hype/fan him at his Lookbook.nu page. I'm pretty sure he's going to be someone big, real soon!

Sylish dudes: Ben Galbraith

So, here's the deal. I'm launching a new sub-section for Stylish dudes, in which I'll interview some cool guys and share their thoughts here. Last month the interviewee was Mexican blogger, living in the UK, Ivam Kent. This month's is dapper Australian blogger: Ben Galbraith.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

Im a 23 year old guy from Adelaide, Australia. I am the creative director of www.merrinandgussy.com

Describe an average day of your life:

Pretty normal really... Get up... Go to work... Etcetera. When I’m not working, you can pretty much always find me drawing, taking photos, making short films or online playing various games.

When did you discover that you were passionate about design and photography? How was that process?

I have always been interested in art and creativity ever since I was young.

How do you feel about blogging (in general) and, blogging about fashion?

Hard question really... I probably don't take it quite as seriously as I should. I pretty much wear what I would on any given day of the week and photograph it quickly.

When did you become invested in fashion, how was that process?

I've always been interested in fashion and personal style and I’ve always found menswear and fashion really fascinating.

Who would you consider as a stylish dude from this time (say 2005-2012) and why?

A stylish person can be anyone really. I personally don't think there should be differences between those with style or those without... Because everyone has moments of being stylish and moments where they are not.

You’re always perfectly dressed up. At what age did you make the decision of ditching the cotton t-shirts and sneakers and embracing the dress shoes and suits? What was your motivation?

It might sound funny... but I never was into the t-shirt/sneakers combo. I love suits.

I really like the videos that usually go along with your outfit posts. What inspires you to make them?

Anything really... I often start with an amazing piece of music and go from there.

When you’re feeling pressured or overwhelmed, what activity helps you re-find your center?

I play A LOT of PC games... I'll always relax most nights with some mates and just play for a while.

What are you currently listening; reading and; watching on TV/internet?

As of this moment right now I am watching a video of a cat wearing a Mexican outfit... Amazing.

What advice can you give to bloggers who are starting their websites but don't get much exposure?

Work hard at your blog. Like it or not, you are creating a source of entertainment, no different from a magazine or newspaper. Always try and have fun writing your blog and being part of the blogging community, your readers will enjoy it a lot more!
