How would you define your style? That's a question I get a lot and one that's very tough to answer. It's like, what kind of music do you listen to? And you never know what to say, because you like lots of different things. The same happens with my personal style; sure, there are some pieces that are always there on my outfits, some items that I truly love, but there are days when I like wearing capes; others when I like bow ties and; also, ones where I like to wear shorts with chunky socks.

We don't live in the seventies anymore, when one season was safari and the next was sailor; we have so many more choices nowadays. Think about it, trends are more of an idea than a step-by-step guide and it's not an obligation to follow today's fashions. We are our own individuals, we make choices, select some things over others...  That's how we start creating our own personal style. One that depends on our mood, on what looks good on us and, even if you like experimenting with different things, you must have something that binds everything together, always.

If I had to define my own personal style, I'd say that there are some key pieces that are always there: black skinny jeans (or skinny jeans in general), biker jackets, denim jackets, chunky sweaters, boots, hi-top sneakers, tons of rings and necklaces and, even, a hairstyle with side bangs. But, like I said at the beginning of this post, some days I wear all black, others I keep the color scheme lighter... The most important thing is that everything stays cohesive: personal style is a way of branding yourself, of expressing your personality without having to speak. Find pieces you like, ones that feel very you and go through the years adapting them, evolving and advancing to become the best version of yourself.

  1. Loving this post and I'm definitely agreeing on what u say, there hardly or merely an ambiguous definition of style these days, it's not like in the past when certain trends were recognised and attached to an iconic figure, it is now more relaxing on all of ur and we have the luxury to design our personal styles. Love the look u've pulled up, simple and fresh and perfect for a casual ootd x Been a long time and I'm still into your work, pal x
