Lone wolf.

As much as I love having people helping me shoot outfit photos, it's hard to always have someone there for you. I bought my tripod and remote control before moving to Seoul and after returning from Los Angeles because I learnt that if you want specific photos, you can't rely on others, you have to take them yourself. I imagined a billion cool scenarios in Korea and how frustrated I would've become if I hadn't shot photos there (like it happened in LA). The decision was obvious.

One of the questions I get the most (and I think I've addressed it here many times) is "who takes your photos?" and the answer I give is "mostly me, but every now and then I get by with a little help from my friends." Blogging has been a lonely profession for me; sometimes I get jealous of those blogs run by couples or groups of friends, I mean, it must be cool to share the burden and know that your team has your back.

And then I remember how much of a perfectionist I am, that I have some weird ideas that other people don't seem to understand and, in complete honesty, how I prefer to work by myself and I feel okay. I wanted to do this particular shoot (in front of a mirror with the equipment exposed) to show you how I work with my camera, controller and tripod, therefore, giving you a better sense of my blogging ways and how I'm a lone wolf, haha. I think it looks quite cool, like backstage cool. Do you agree?

Compré mi tripie y control remoto antes de mudarme a Seoul y después de regresar de Los Ángeles porque aprendí que, cuando quieres fotografías específicas, no puedes depender de los demás, tienes que tomarlas tú. Imaginé millones de escenarios padres en Korea y cuán frustrado hubiera estado de no poder sacar fotos ahí (como me sucedió en LA). La decisión se volvió obvia.

Una de las preguntas que recibo con más frecuencia (y que he respondido aquí un par de veces) es "¿Quién toma tus fotos?" y la respuesta que doy es "principalmente yo, pero de vez en cuando me ayudan amigos." Bloggear ha sido una profesión solitaria para mi; a veces me dan celos esos blogs que son llevados por parejas o grupos de amigos, digo, debe ser bien padre compartir la carga y saber que tu equipo te apoya.

Y luego me acuerdo qué tan perfeccionista soy, cómo tengo ideas difíciles de entender para los demás y, en completa honestidad, cómo prefiero trabajar solo y ya me siento bien. Quise hacer esta sesión en particular (frente a un espejo con equipo expuesto) para mostrarles cómo trabajo con mi cámara, control remoto y tripie; darles una mejor idea de cómo funciona el blog y cómo soy un lobo solitario, jaja. Creo que se ve padre, como detrás de escenas padre. ¿Están de acuerdo?
