Pop (a collaboration project with Tommy Hilfiger)

Hey guys! A really cool thing happened this month: I was chosen to be an ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger for a couple of projects this year. That makes me feel very special. I can be very sleek and dark when it comes to the clothes I wear but I have a soft-spot for preppy items. Guess I always wanted the varsity jacket in high school or the family crest and stuff like that. That's where Tommy Hilfiger comes in.

I remember when they started with a campaign called "The Hilfigers", that was all about taking the brand to all ages and races and making all the people a family. As an advertiser, I loved it but; as a person, it resonated with me. Now, a couple of years later, I'm starting to feel as part of that family, as a Hilfiger.

The brand is currently sponsoring a really cool art exhibition called "#DiegoPopFridaPop" in Mexico City, it's all about Frida Kahlo and her husband (Diego Rivera) when they had to move to the States and how that transformed their lives and artistic style. Moving to a different country, even if it is for a short period of time, can change the way you look at life. All of the sudden, something inside you pops and you become a different version of yourself. I like that; I like those stories...

Me acuerdo cuando empezaron con una campaña llamada "The Hilfigers", que se trataba de llevar la marca a todas las edades y razas y hacer, de toda la gente, una familia. Como publicista, me encantó pero; como una persona, hizo click conmigo. Ahora, un par de años más tarde, comienzo a sentirme como parte de esa familia, como un Hilfiger.

La marca está patrocinando una exposición de arte muy buena onda llamada "DiegoPopFridaPop" en la ciudad de México, se trata de Frida Kahlo y su esposo (Diego Rivera) cuando tuvieron que mudarse a Estados Unidos y cómo eso transformó su vida y estilo artístico. Mudarte a otro país, así sea por poco tiempo, puede cambiar la forma en que ves la vida. De repente, algo en ti hace pop y te conviertes en una versión diferente de ti mismo. Me gusta eso, me gustan esas historias... 

La exposición estará abierta al público hasta el 7 de septiembre y se localiza en la Galería Torre del Reloj, en el Parque Lincoln, Polanco.
