The Darkness in our hearts 2 Hey fellas! Lately I've been thinking a lot about light and darkness in people's hearts and how individuals are not completely one or the other. It's like when you meet a person who's all rainbows and magic but you're not buying that personality and that makes you feel like that individual has a dark side. Well, I think we all have some darkness in us, and that doesn't make us evil or anything like that, it just balances out our personality. It's like a coin, you need both sides in order for it to have value; one side's not enough.

I'm tying this with September's theme (eternal summer) by thinking that eternity (in itself) has to have light and darkness to be eternal. Sounds a bit weird and redundant but I think it's true. Balance is required everywhere, at all times, for things to endure. That's how the journey to having something eternal involves looking at the situation from all its different sides, to take both the light and darkness in our hearts and make something out of it.

It was weird that said duality became apparent in these photos after I started toying with that idea in my head. I'm wearing mostly black but the sunset is casting off some light, creating an effect that not only is nice but it's also powerful. I think that you need to embrace the darkness in your heart to appreciate the light; that darkness propels to create, to fight and to conquer situations in life. The balance between the darkness and light in your heart is what makes our emotions and thoughts feel eternal.

// ¡Hey amigos!
