Good Girls

I haven't laughed so much watching a drama show since Desperate Housewives was airing almost a decade ago, Good Girls is that good, haha. I recently binge watched (sort of) the entire first season in three days and I can't wait for the second one; it tells the story of three mothers living in the suburbs, how desperate for money they are, and this isn't a real spoiler, how they rob a supermarket where gangsters were laundering money and, finally, how that changes their lives for good.

The three leads are completely different women with powerful stories: Beth, played by Christina Hendricks, is very housewife-y but a killer liar; Ruby (played by Retta) has a daughter who needs a kidney transplant but that doesn't make her sappy and sad, she's actually the funniest of the trio and; lastly, Annie (Mae Whitman), a young mom who's very annoying, is always screwing things up but (as much as I dislike her) she's one of those crucial characters in the show. Good Girls is fun when you least expect it, it made me excited, made me cry and, overall, is juicy enough to keep you wanting more. Netflix released it globally earlier this month and, trust me, it's one of the best things I've watched this year.

Recientemente vi toda la temporada (en tres días, como un atascado) y no puedo esperar por la segunda; cuenta la historia de tres madres viviendo en los suburbios, qué tan desesperadas por dinero están, y esto no es un spoiler verdadero, cómo roban un súper mercado donde la mafia lava dinero y, finalmente, cómo eso cambia sus vidas para siempre. 

Las tres actrices principales son mujeres completamente diferentes con historias poderosas: Beth, interpretada por Christina Hendricks, es muy ama de casa pero buenísima mintiendo; Ruby (interpretada por Retta) tiene una hija que necesita un transplante de riñón pero eso no la hace triste y deprimida, de hecho creo que es la más chistosa del trío y; por último, Annie (Mae Whitman), una mamá joven que es muy irritante, siempre está complicando las cosas pero (por más que me caiga mal) es uno de esos personajes cruciales para la serie. Good Girls es divertida cuando menos te lo esperas, me emocionó, me hizo llorar y, en general, es lo suficientemente jugosa como para mantenerte queriendo más. Netflix la lanzó globalmente a principios de este mes y, confíen en mí, es una de las mejores cosas que he visto este año.
