Outfits with glitter shirts and weird farm-like settings

I'm wearing: 

1. Glitter shirt in silver/grey, from YesStyle.

2. Super skinny jeans in black, from H&M.

3. Leather Chelsea boots in black, from Frank Wright.

4. Rings, from H&M.

LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS. I wrote that in all caps because I mean it, guys; life teaches us many lessons and that's an important one. I'm a perfectionist, a control-freak, I like to lead and, if you haven't guessed it by now, that has hurt me and teared me down many many times. When I go to family things or events held by my mom's friends, it's a funny thing, they always tell me I look like a model (I mean, of course I'm not a model but thanks) or a pop-star or even, (true story) the dolls from the wedding cake... And I think it's because of the way I dress and present myself. I'm not always glamorous or anything like that but I do put in a lot of effort. 

So, imagine this scenario when we got to this party with 20-30 people and I'm wearing a freakin' glitter shirt and the host is in shorts and flip-flops (with very questionable hair), I felt so out of place and, I know it's a frivolous thing to say, at the same sort of superior to everyone else. That's the power your outfit and personal care can give you. Let me finish this statement saying that I was in no way superior to anyone and dressing better doesn't make you better than others but it sure as hell gives you a confidence boost. In the end, I got past my initial judgements by lowering my expectations and, turns out, everyone was super friendly and nice; that proves that even when you're in a farm (because I was), surrounded by people with a bad sense of style, you're not better than them, they all have their own value and when you change your focus from say, their outfits or their hair, you can actually see people for what they are.

With that said, let's talk about fashion here, okay? Because all that sentimentalism I said before is well and good but another very important thing to state is that if you look good, you feel good and; , also, every event is an excuse to dress up a bit. If you're nice, interesting, kind and well dressed, you're on your way to success. I paired my new favourite glitter shirt (from YesStyle) with black skinny jeans and black boots; the shirt is strong enough to make a statement, I feel like it looks best with a muted palette when it comes to the rest of the outfit, all black, all the time. Shine with your clothes and shine with your personality, you'll be unstoppable.

Soy perfeccionista, me gusta el control, liderar y esas cosas y, si no lo han adivinado hasta ahora, eso me ha derrotado y lastimado muchas veces. Cuando voy a cosas familiares o eventos de los amigos de mi mamá, es chistoso, siempre me dicen que parezco modelo (digo, claro que no soy modelo pero gracias) o cantante de pop o incluso (historia verdadera) uno de los muñequitos del pastel de bodas... Y creo que es por la forma en que me visto y me presento. No siempre soy glamoroso o cosas así pero vaya que le echo ganas.  

Así que imaginen este escenario: llegamos a una fiesta con 20-30 personas y yo usando una gran camisa con diamantina y la anfitriona está en shorts y chanclas (con cabello muy cuestionable). Me sentí súper fuera de lugar y, sé que suena frívolo, al mismo tiempo, superior a los demás en cierta manera. Ése es el poder que tu outfit y cuidado personal te puede dar. Déjenme terminar esa declaración diciendo que, de ninguna manera, yo soy superior a los demás y vestirme mejor no te hace mejor que ellos pero, claramente, te da un incremento de autoestima. Al final, miré más allá de mis juicios iniciales bajando mis expectativas y, resultó, todos fueron muy amables y amigables; eso prueba que, aunque estés en una granja (porque estaba en una granja), rodeado de gente con mal estilo, no eres mejor que ellos, todos tienen su propio valor y cuando cambias el foco, de sus atuendos o cabello, por ejemplo, ves realmente a la gente por lo que es. 

Con eso dicho, hablemos de moda ¿sí? Porque todo el sentimentalismo que dije antes está bien y todo pero otra cosa muy importante para decir es que si te ves bien, te sientes bien y; además, todo evento es buena excusa para arreglarte. Si eres amable, interesante, agradable y bien vestido, vas en camino al éxito. Combiné mi nueva camisa de diamantina favorita (de YesStyle) con jeans entubados negros y botas negras; la camisa ya es lo lo suficientemente fuerte para destacar así que sentí que se vería mejor con una paleta más muda, en negro. Brilla con tu ropa y brilla con tu personalidad, serás imparable.
