I'm an airhead. Oh wow!: I Style My (friend): Astrid R. II

Hey guys! After not being here last month, here comes a new entry of "I style my: _____", in which I style someone, do a photo-shoot and share the results. I've been helping my friends get dressed for a while now and I think it's a good idea to showcase my styling skills; besides, it's nice to show different faces around here. I have all this material Astrid and I shot together but I've been carefully selecting the best photos, sorry for the delays. Again, she's relatively new on this blog but we've been friends for many years. Hope you like this outfit!

He ayudado a mis amigos a vestirse desde hace un rato y creo que es buena idea mostrar mis habilidades para eso; además, está padre mostrar caras distintas por aquí. Tengo mucho material que Astrid y yo tomamos juntos pero he estado seleccionando cuidadosamente las mejores fotos, perdón por los retrasos. De nuevo, ella es relativamente nueva en este blog pero hemos sido amigos por muchos años. ¡Espero que les guste este atuendo.

This is one of my favourite outfits from the photo-shoot I did with Astrid; we started pretty early and she unpacked a bag on her living room, the whole place was covered in clothes. I saw this floral midi skirt and immediately thought about putting it together with a biker jacket. She said she wasn't sure about how to wear it but that she loved it and we tried going for a semi-formal approach with the graphic t-shirt and the gold shoes. I think it looks amazing and, also, like a really fun outfit... I don't know, if I saw a girl wearing this at a party, I'd definitely go and talk to her, I would want to know her story.

Every piece of clothing Astrid has comes with a story. Half of this outfit comes from Tokyo and the love for that city is a thing we have in common. She has traveled all over the world, that has inspired me so much. She overcame difficulties, like being out of money, facing cultural barriers, losing her passport, stuff like that... But when times got hard, she was even more motivated to turn the bad into good and keep on traveling. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that no matter how hard life seems at times, there's always something good around the corner waiting for you. Astrid taught me that; she taught me to fight for your dreams, no matter how crazy they sound and; also, to go where your wings take you: Mexico, India, Australia, Japan, everywhere.

// Éste es uno de mis atuendos favoritos de la sesión de fotos que hice con Astrid; empezamos muy temprano y ella desempacó una maleta en su sala, el lugar estaba repleto de ropa. Vi esta falda floral e inmediatamente quise ponerla con una chamarra motociclista. Ella me dijo que no estaba segura cómo usarla pero que la amaba e intentamos ir por un acercamiento semi-formal con la blusa gráfica y los zapatos dorados. Creo que se ve bien padre y, también, como un atuendo divertido... No sé, si viera a una niña usando esto en una fiesta, definitivamente iría a hablar con ella. Me gustaría conocer su historia.

Cada prenda que Astrid posee viene con una historia. La mitad de este atuendo viene de Tokyo y el amor por esa ciudad es algo que tenemos en común. Ella ha viajado por todo el mundo, eso me ha inspirado mucho. Venció dificultades, como quedarse sin dinero, enfrentarse a barreras culturales, perder su pasaporte, cosas así... Pero cuando los tiempos se ponían difíciles, ella estaba aún más motivada a convertir lo malo en bueno y seguir viajando. Creo que lo que trato de decir es que no importa qué tan difícil la vida parezca, siempre hay algo bueno esperando a la vuelta de la esquina. Astrid me enseñó eso; me enseñó que hay que luchar por tus sueños, no importa qué tan locos suenen y; además, a ir donde tus alas te lleven: México, India, Australia, Japón, todos lados.
