Dark & Moody

I'm wearing:

1. Slim fit blazer in black, from United Colors of Benetton.

3. Super skinny jeans in black, from H&M.

4. Suede wrinkled Chelsea boots in black, from Asos.

5. Oversized clubmasters, from Ray Ban.

6. Rings, from Asos & H&M.

"When in doubt, wear black", "Black is my happy color", "I'm in all black, like my soul", those three are phrases that I often say to refer to my style (or my soul, apparently), and here's why: I love black, I think it's flattering, makes my skin look paler and elongates my body. I'm not the tallest guy out there at just 5'8, but I try to make my proportions look good, you know? Black garments help with that.

I think black skinny jeans are my signature piece; if you browse through this blog, you should notice that. I have 6 or 7 different pairs and I'm always hunting for more. I think they're the most flattering trousers you can find out there.  All-black outfits, while apparently simple enough, can be tricky. I think it's important to have different textures and materials on your outfit to make that stand out and not look like a piece of coal.

I wore this and, from the back, it looked a bit safe but, when you see the front, you can actually catch a glimpse of skin, a stretched knit helped me achieve that. I also like how the wrinkles from the boots seem to integrate with the trousers from the front, but if you see it from the sides, you notice the zippers and that breaks the illusion. All-black outfits are about that, you know, illusions and also, about expressing your current mood. I like to be moody and dark from time to time.

// "Cuando no sepas qué usar, usa negro", "El negro es mi color de felicidad", "Negro, como mi alma", esas tres son frases que uso frecuentemente para referirme a mi estilo (o, aparentemente, a mi alma) y ahora les digo por qué: amo el negro, creo que siempre se ve bien, me hace ver más pálido y me hace ver más largo. No soy la persona más alta, midiendo 1.73, pero trato de verme proporcionado, ¿saben? Las prendas negras ayudan con eso.

Creo que los jeans entubados negros son mi pieza identificadora; si le echan un ojo al blog, deberían darse cuenta de esto. Tengo 6 o 7 pares diferentes y siempre estoy buscando más. Creo que son los pantalones más favorecedores que puedes tener. Los atuendos todos-negros, aunque parezcan cosa simple, pueden ser complicados. Creo que es importante tener diferentes texturas y materiales en tu atuendo para hacerlo destacar más y no parecer un pedazo de carbón.

Yo usé esto y, de espaldas, parecía ser algo bastante safe pero, cuando lo ves de frente, se aprecia un poquito de piel, un tejido amplio me ayudó a conseguir eso. También me gusta cómo las arrugas de las botas parecen integrarse con los pantalones (de frente), pero si lo ves de lado, notas los cierres y eso rompe la ilusión. Los atuendos todos negros se tratan de eso, saben, de ilusiones y, además, de expresar tu ánimo actual. Me gusta ser obscuro y temperamental de vez en cuando.
