Mundane Pleasures Costco 3 Most of my time in Seoul, I wanted to live like a local, discover the culture and customs, feel Korean. Once in a blue moon, I felt homesick and not necessarily of my country, it was nostalgia for a place to call home. When that happened, and I think this is going to sound funny, I went to the one place I felt like home: Costco.

I'm telling the truth. I love Costco because it's the same in every country, they have the same items you'd find at your local Costco (plus, some amazing local ones) and even the food tastes the same. The best pizza I had in Korea (a bulgogi pizza) was at Costco. I truly have a special relationship with this store, it saved my life many times and allowed me to not starve and save some money. Costco is a place where I feel safe, protected, it's my mundane pleasure and, I figured, why don't make a photo-shoot over there?

I'm pretty sure you've seen stuff inspired by supermarkets before and the reason behind it is that supermarkets are a big part of every country's culture. People spend lots of time over there; it's the one place where you can find tons of local products. But Costco is a warehouse store, one that looks the same in every country. What's so special about it? It's exactly that, it's the same here and in Japan and in Canada. Costco is an eternal memory we possess, therefore, a perfect set for a batch of cool photos. Don't be afraid to take a risk and share your love for something, no matter how strange it may sound, it's a part of you and part of your sources of inspiration.
