Last summer, while I was visiting my mom in Sacramento, I was drinking some tea and working from a Starbucks (because we didn't have home internet installed at the moment) and, for some reason, I paused the song I was listening to and heard some of the lines I wrote above in the voice of Sara Bareilles. I started tearing up because they made so much sense, I felt like they described some aspects of me and I couldn't help but feel them running through my soul. It's not simple to say but some days, I don't recognise me...
