Far away but still close

You know that phrase written in cars that says something like "objects in the mirror may appear closer than they really are"? I think life works like that a little bit. When you focus your attention on little details, you may find things that you didn't see before and viceversa, when you focus on the bigger picture, some things may appear closer than they really are but, in reality, they're not.

Where am I going with this? You may ask. Valid point. When I think of some memories that I feel close, that I feel happened recently, sometimes I realise that a long time time has passed and, oddly enough, they still feel close. It's an interesting dichotomy, it's marvellous to know that some things can be far away yet it feels like they're right around the corner.

Cuando concentras tu atención en los pequeños detalles, quizá encuentres cosas que no viste antes y viceversa, cuando te enfocas en el panorama más amplio, algunas cosas pueden aparecer cercanas cuando, en realidad, no es así.

¿A dónde voy con esto? Pueden preguntar. Punto válido. Cuando pienso en algunos recuerdos que siento cercanos, que siento ocurrieron recientemente, a veces me doy cuenta que ya ha pasado mucho tiempo y, por raro que parezca, aún se sienten cercanos. Es una dicotomía interesante, es maravilloso saber que algunas cosas pueden estar muy lejos y, al mismo tiempo, estar a la vuelta de la esquina.
