Androgynous.

For a while now, I've been thinking that a big part of styling yourself everyday is having enough choices. So, menswear, womenswear, who really cares? As long as you feel great in it, it doesn't matter anymore. We're living in a modern world, aren't we?

That's why I teamed up with my best friend (Sandi) to shoot an androgynous editorial wearing the same outfits, with slight alterations, like shoes or tights vs. shorts + meggings. It was awesome and I love the results. Let me know what you think on the comment section!

The City of Paju

I'm wearing:

1. Black slim fit blazer with studs, from Zara.
2. Cowl neck varsity hoodie, from Asos.
3. Super slim fit jeans, from H&M.
4. Sequined sneakers, from Vans.
5. Oversized clubmasters, from Ray Ban.
6. Spiked bracelet, from Pull & Bear.

During my stay in Korea, I haven't had the chance to visit many cities within the country. I went to Busan, which is like the ugly sister of Seoul but with beaches and a cool seaside temple, click on the links to revisit my time there; and now I had the opportunity to check out Paju, a small north western city famous for holding several military bases, the English villages and a huge Premium Outlet.

Truth be told, I went there mainly for the outlet, hehe, (as if my shopping sprees in Seoul weren't enough) and found out that there's not really a lot of things for middle class customers. A lot of Koreans go there for high-end brands that offer huge discounts (like something worth 30,000 dollars being priced now at 18,000. YAY). So, I saw this as an opportunity to relax and enjoy the little things a small city has to offer.

It was snowing, that was pretty cool. I ate the most average burger I've ever had (in Johnny Rockets), found that my choice of shoes wasn't appropriate, as you can see in the photos but, other than that, going to Paju was pretty cool. None of my roomies or friends wanted to join because it was a 2-hour drive from Seoul but hey, I was up for the challenge. So, if you're ever in South Korea, be sure to check out Paju and, I'm sure, you'll love their minimalistic sense of architecture and cool weather.

Hen.

At Skyfall.

I'm wearing:

1. Classic leather jacket in black, from Forever21.
2. Color block polo shirt, from Pull & Bear.
3. Black super skinny jeans, from Asos.
4. White hi-top sneakers, from Adidas Originals.
5. 3-D Mermaid necklace, from Asos.
You guys have no idea how happy snow has made me. Yes, I've fallen over and over again (because, really, no one warns you about the floor getting so slippery) and sometimes my hands hurt from the cold but, other than those little things, I'm infatuated with snow. The buildings at my school, for example, look much cooler now and even something simple like a brick wall becomes an amazing thing. Snow makes everything more beautiful and special.

I'm wearing a fairly simple outfit and, in case you're wondering, I was dying from the low temperature. Guess sometimes I think I'm tougher that I really am, because I clearly needed a bigger jacket or more layers or gloves. I was a little crazy to shoot this outfit in these conditions but I really, really, wanted to wear that shirt because it's super cool and I haven't worn it in a very long time. Hehe.

If you take some time to look at the sky in these photos, you might find something really wonderful and scary. I arranged the images in chronological order (except for the title one, that's should be the last but hey, sue me) for you to appreciate the change of light and how everything looks yellow-grayish, it's not edited to look like that, it's all natural, I swear. I didn't notice that when I was shooting this outfit but once I saw the pics on my laptop, wow... Just wow.

WOW. WOW.
Loves always,
Hen.

Breakfast with Ole Henriksen.

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to attend a breakfast held by Sephora regarding one of their most famous brands: Ole Henriksen. The greatness of this meal was that the Danish Ole himself flew from Los Angeles to meet bloggers and other journalists in a super cozy, intimate gathering.

He presented his newest products, including practical wipes to have an exfoliation, deep cleansing or remove makeup on the go and, also, some oils and his "3 Little Wonders", a kit composed of his Truth Serum Collagen Booster (to brighten skin), the Invigorating Night Gel (that helps with fine lines and scars) and the Sheer Transformation Brightening Moisturizer (that exfoliates and battles dark spots). Expect a review of these products soon!

The breakfast was held at Livorno, an incredibly cool restaurant. I had the chance to meet other bloggers and fashion personalities, it was awesome. Ole is, seriously, one of the coolest people I've ever met. He's full of energy, is funny as hell and has the greatest presence, he commanded the room without intimidating anyone. That, my friends, is powerful. The guy is 62 and has more energy than me on my good days, haha. So, yeah, I learned a lot about skincare but, more importantly, I learned about life and being positive.

And here's Ole saying that he wants my hair on his next life. Hahaha.
So, smile a bit today and be the best version of yourselves.

Blue for World Water Day.

I'm wearing:

1. BLUE oversized peacoat, from Maison Martin Margiela.
2. Plaid shirt in BLUE and red, from H&M.
3. BLUE t-shirt, from H&M.
4. Brown waffled sweater, from Pull & Bear.
5. BLUE super skinny jeans, from H&M.
6. Brown suede boots, from Frank Wright Shoes.
7. Hair lock necklace, from Maison Martin Margiela.
8. Seven dwarfs ring, thrifted from Los Angeles.
Today's a very special date: it's the World Water Day. The United Nations (UN) have devoted every 22nd of March to recommend and promote activities within their countries regarding the world's water resources. A different theme is selected each year and the 2014 one is: Water and Energy, it's all about the direct relationship between them; energy generation and transmission requires the use of water and, conversely, a great deal of the global energy is used for treating and transporting water to various countries and locations.

The Giorgio Armani team approached me and asked me to put together a blue outfit to support their "Aqua For Life" movement, in which they donate 100 liters of drinkable water to children in need with every bottle of Acqua Di Gio. If you want to be a part of this cause, upload a photo to Instagram wearing something blue and add the hashtag #AcquaForLife; and if you want to know more about the World Water Day, visit their official website here.

I chose to wear my blue oversized peacoat in a layered look that includes a plaid shirt, blue t-shirt, blue super skinny jeans, boots and a sweater tied on my waist. As you can see, it's really cold in Seoul and there's snow everywhere. I'm in love with this weather. And this is also the perfect example of how to layer clothes, a topic I discussed previously on the blog, click here to revisit that. I hope you decide to help this cause and learn a bit of what World Water Day is all about. If you have any ideas to share or questions, the comment section is all yours!

First Chaps store opens in Mexico!

'Ello there chaps! (See what I just did there?) So Chaps, for those of you who aren't familiar with it, is  a brand within Ralph Lauren Corporation and it's known for a truly American style: simple, basic pieces that can be worn in a million different ways. The fits silhouettes are classic and, dare I say it? More on the conservative side. However, there's something for every taste, since we all need basic pieces to style ourselves everyday, don't we?

The opening for the first Chaps store in Mexico was held a week ago and it was a small get together for press and fashion related people, mixed with a delicious little brunch, everything at the main store in Mexico City. The store layout is really cool and it's a big place so, I can assure, your experience there will be very nice and easygoing.

What do you think of Chaps? Is it your kind of store?

Let It Snow!

I'm wearing:

1. Fur snood, from Zara.
2. Brown parka, from H&M.
3. Striped t-shirt with contrast pocket, from Zara.
4. Super slim fit jeans, from H&M.
5. Hi-top sneakers, from FUBU.
6. Spiked bracelet, from H&M.
7. Rings, from H&M.
Many people get super excited when the temperature starts to rise and the days get warmer and warmer. Oh yeah, spring arrives and everybody can put their jumpers and coats back in the closet, reduce the layers and feel fresher, right? Well, that's not me. If you're an assiduous reader of this blog, you'll know that I don't like spring and summer weather and that, even when it's terribly hot outside, I still like to wear my leather jackets, scarves and boots.

During my stay in Seoul, I was blessed to have snow. Actual snow. It's magnificent. Everything outside gets more beautiful, brighter, cooler. Dressing for those very cold days is kind of tricky; sometimes there will be sun and you won't get as cold but; other times, it's like the freaking apocalypse outside. Just kidding! Those other times, you just need good gloves to cover your paws.

I'm at my Korean University, the place where I take most of my photos these days (can you blame me? The place looks amazing!), and there was a little snow storm while I was shooting. That was extra special. My friends were already putting on their best "Michelin Man" jackets but a parka and scarf combo was enough for me, I loved the feeling of being chilly with this landscape. What do you prefer, warmer or colder weather?

Pues, ése no soy yo.

Love always,
Hen.

Chill As Hell.

I'm wearing:

1. Wool pea coat in gray, from H&M.
2. T-shirt with functional pocket gloves, from Self Clothing.
3. Paneled super slim fit jeans, from H&M.
4. Gray suede creepers, from Kr3w.
5. Zebra print socks, from TopTen10 Korea.
I love coats, really, really love them. The chance for me to wear the ones I own is rare but, thankfully, the weather in Seoul allowed me to justify my obsession with purchasing coats and, finally, I was able to wear this one. On a sour note, I discovered that pure wool and I don't mix well, you know, itchiness and stuff, so don't expect to see much of this cool coat in here. It pains me to admit that but it's even more painful to wear it.

Anyhow, I said that I would honor winter this month and I'll do that. It's my favorite season and I really enjoy the chillier weather. I'm the weird guy that likes when his nose gets freezing cold and, of course, loves the uncontrollable shaking and everything that revolves around cold, like chilling* in your apartment with a nice cup of tea or cocoa and just search for cool things in Tumblr like there's no tomorrow.

Coat aside, the other main piece in this outfit is my t-shirt. It has functional glove pockets that allow people to hug me or touch my heart. Funny thing, girls actually hug me when I use this t-shirt, hands inside pockets and everything; that makes it even more awesome. It's from a super cool brand called SELF that has been off my radar nowadays... Who knows what happened to it. But yeah, I'm lucky enough to possess a couple of SELF t-shirts and, for that, I'll be forever grateful.

Love always,
Hen.
