Longer Is Better

I'm wearing:

I'm not going to come here and tell you: "Trend Alert! Longline is in!" or some bullshit like that. I actually hate when bloggers do that because it's rare to find one who actually understand how trends work but that's not the point I'm trying to make here. I told you on a previous post that I saw lots of longline pieces during 2014 and 2015 and even more on the recent winter sales. I think it's because people don't quite know how to style them. Well, here's my take on a full outfit with a longline shirt.

If you're an asiduos reader of this blog (and I hope you are), you may have seen me wearing longline pieces before, in shirts, t-shirts and sweaters. I just really like the way I look in them, it makes me look taller and that alone is wonderful. I think the key to achieve an amazing look with longline garments is to balance proportions. I'm wearing a shorter jacket and super skinny jeans. I color-blocked this whole outfit and that also helps to create a nicer silhouette.

I love this shirt because it's such a fresh take on the classic white shirt. I usually wear it like this, more on the casual side, but once I did it with a black blazer, black trousers and creepers and it looked really cool and formal too. I was the one guy that looked different from everyone else (in a good way). So, the best advice that I can give you, asides from "get yourself some super skinny jeans ASAP", is that it's cool to take a risk every once in a while. Fashion and style are supposed to be fun topics, so go ahead and have fun!

De hecho, me cae bastante mal cuando los bloggers hacen eso porque es raro encontrar a uno que realmente entienda cómo funcionan las tendencias pero eso no es el punto que trato de hacer aquí. Les dije en un post pasado que vi muchas piezas longline en 2014, 2015 y aún más en las rebajas de invierno recientes. Creo que es porque la gente no sabe muy bien cómo armar atuendos con éstas. Pues, aquí está mi propuesta en un atuendo completo con una camisa longline. 

Si son lectores asiduos del blog (y espero que lo sean), quizá me hayan visto usando piezas longline anteriormente, en camisas, playeras y sweaters. Me gusta mucho cómo me veo en las, me hace lucir más alto y eso es una maravilla. Creo que la clave para conseguir un look muy padre con piezas longline es balancear proporciones. Estoy usando una chamarra más corta y jeans muy entubados. Apliqué bloques de color a todo este atuendo y eso también ayuda a crear una silueta más sofisticada. 

Amo esta camisa porque es una toma muy fresca en la camisa blanca clásica Usualmente la uso así, más casual, pero una vez me la puse con un saco negro, pantalones negros y creepers y se veía súper bien y formal también. Yo fui ese chavito que se veía diferente del resto (en una buena forma). Así que el mejor consejo que puedo darles, además de "vayan y compren unos jeans muy entubados YA", es que está bueno tomar un riesgo de vez en cuando. La moda y el estilo son temas que deben ser divertidos, así que ¡vayan y diviértanse!
