One of These Nights (in collaboration with H&M)

One of these days... One of these years... One of these nights...We have to keep on hoping that someday, at some point, the things we want will come true. I like to read my journals and imagine myself back in the position I was during the time I wrote them and I came to realise that, at least in my journals, I'm always waiting for better things to happen. I think about how magnificent things will happen... One of these days...

Having hope means that you should never give up, that something better has to come and that life will find a way to straighten out your road, no matter how twisty it gets. I have to think that, most people have to think that, otherwise, you're left with instant decisions and consequences and, trust me, life is more than that. Life is about planning ahead, fulfilling goals, making your dreams come true... One of these years...

So, every time something bad happens, or something that you didn't expect makes you suffer, think about this: that too shall pass, better days are coming. Everything gets better and, somehow, yesterday's problems become less and less important. Maybe we can't have all that we want and perhaps some things will make us suffer for a long time but one of these nights you'll realise that not everything's screwed up, that you can actually enjoy bits of your life. One of these nights... You can catch up with the shadow of your old self and say: "Hey stranger, we meet again"... One of these nights...

// Uno de estos días... Uno de estos años... Una de estas noches... Tenemos que tener esperanza de que algún día, en algún momento las cosas que queremos se volverán realidad. Me gusta leer mis diarios e imaginarme de vuelta en la posición en que estaba cuando los escribí y me di cuenta de que, al menos en mis diarios, siempre estoy esperando que cosas mejores sucedan. Pienso en cómo cosas magníficas sucederán... Uno de estos días...

Tener esperanza significa no rendirse, que algo bueno pasará y que la vida encontrará la forma de enderezar el camino en el que vamos, sin importar qué tan torcido se torne. Tengo que pensar eso, la mayoría de la gente tiene que pensar eso, de otra forma, de quedas sólo con decisiones y consecuencias instantáneas y, créanme, la vida es más que eso. La vida se trata de hacer planes, cumplir metas, hacer que nuestros sueños se cumplan... Uno de estos años...

Así que cada vez que algo malo suceda o algo que no esperamos nos haga sufrir hay que pensar en esto: todo pasa, mejores días vienen hacia acá. Todo mejora y, de alguna manera, los problemas de ayer se vuelven menos y menos importantes. Quizá no podemos tener todo lo que queremos y tal vez algunas cosas nos harán sufrir por mucho tiempo pero una de estas noches te darás cuenta que no todo está tan mal, que se pueden disfrutar algunos momentos de la vida. Una de estas noches... Puedes encontrarte con la sombra de quien solías ser y decir: "Hola extraño, nos vemos otra vez".. . Una de estas noches...
